1975 Honda MT250"An Investment Quality Classic that has been totally restored BUT Guaranteed to increase in value!"Just under 920 original miles on this stunning MT250 Thousands of dollars has been spent on parts and labor to restore this beautiful Vintage Honda. NOW, lets get to the BUT as stated in the opening sentence.... I purchased this bike from the gentleman that did the restoring on the bike. It would run at the time but not well and it would backfire a great deal. I installed a new set of points, set the timing and reworked the carb, now the bike will start on first or second kick with no backfiring. That being said there does seem to be a problem with way to much oil coming out of the exhaust. My guess at this point is that oil is being drawn from the transmission. I did drive the bike for about 2 miles so I know clutch and trans are good. Did some one make a mistake when performing the rebuild? That is my guess.. I am restoring a Z1 and a GT380 at the moment and do not want to go into the engine on this MT250. I'm sure there are many MT enthusiast out there with more interest in this bike than me. I also know the seal can be replaced without splitting the cases. So please take a look at the pictures and the list of items that have been done to the bike. A little electrical work on the lights will also need to be done.
