Vehicle Detail
Overview This auction is for my 1984 911 Targa. I received this car a number of years ago from a good friend of mine. I had every intention to restore this car and hot-rod/modify it to make the 911 of my dreams. Life is dealing me a different hand, however. We have small kids, and circumstances in my life have made me come to the realization that this project just isn’t going to happen any time soon. So, rather than keep the car in hopes that one day things change, I have decided that it’s best to give it a new home. Since this car is in pieces, I feel like it requires some in-depth explanation. Let me just run through some high-level items, and then I’ll go into depth on some specific things after that. Year: 1984 Mileage: ? (doesn’t really matter at this point) Carfax: I do have a carfax that I can give to a potential buyer. I pulled it more for interest than anything. Title: Salvage (obviously) But I have the official title in my name to transfer to the buyer Location: I am just north of Seattle. Collecting the car: Buy assumes all responsibility for coming and getting the car. I will help out with whatever I can help with, but you would need to figure out a transport solution, keeping in mind that the car doesn’t have suspension. If you bring wheels with tires, I could put the steering rack back on so that the car will at least roll onto a truck. THIS IS A FULL-SCALE PROJECT, BE WARNED The car is in pieces, I started the disassembly process years ago. I did my best to bag and tag everything that I took off. That said, I make no promises for what you will find, if there are missing bits and bobs, that is the risk of getting a car that is in this state of dis-repair. I will do my best to list what I have, and to list what I know that I don’t have, but consider this a warning that this is completely as-is. I’m assuming that the buyer of this car will want to chuck most of the components in favor of a custom build. If that’s the case, then this is a great candidate. I love the Targa, and that was my intention was to make this car a custom 911 hot rod. I wish whoever the best who decides to take on this project. Damage that I know about The car was involved in an accident (from what I can gather by inspecting it, and looking at the carfax). The passenger side suspension was bent inwards, and I believe the car skidded into a curb. The right-side front A arm was bent (I bought a new/used one) and the rear right trailing arm looks to be a used replacement part. The rear shock was bent, and I bought 2 used rear shocks to eventually use as temporary replacements. The rear wheel arch has some small creases in the bodywork, so that will definitely factor in to the repairs that you will need to do. In addition, next to the rear right taillight, the fender is split away from the crossbar (would just need to be welded I believe. I say this stuff as a full-disclosure, so there are no surprises. I can provide specific photos of this stuff if desired. I was told by a Porsche expert that it needed some time on a Celette bench, but that it wasn’t an extensive fix, but rather not that bad. What’s included This is a summary (not an exhaustive inventory) of the things that I know are included Chassis Rear window (in tact, no cracks) polished wheels (BEAUTIFUL, more pics if you want) front and rear suspension seat frames (no foam or upholstery) both front fenders hood doors (from an earlier model 911, but a direct fit) door glass rear seat pads and backs gas tank (but will need complete refurbishment) What I don’t have Again, this isn’t an exhaustive list, but it shows at least what I know isn’t here Engine Transmission gearbox components I have the linkage bars, but no stick, etc Gauges Center console door panels On Jan-17-18 at 11:39:20 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: If you need to have this car be a roller, you will either need to ship me steel wheels/tires, or bring them with you. The Fuchs I have are just wheels (since I had them re-finished). If you ship or bring wheels/tires with you, make sure they have a standard 911 bolt pattern. On Jan-25-18 at 11:05:44 PST, seller added the following information: Update: I don't have the rear decklid.
