Vehicle Detail
This is a top spec, special order, Z06 3LZ and stage three aero package. (This has removable front dive planes and the rear spoiler center section) This particular car was never seriously tracked and only driven at Road Atlanta one time for an easy session. (see picture) Never overheated and was faster than all who did:) The car is the manual transmission, with the comp seats, a clear top and the solid top with the matching stripes. On the clear top I had the side rails professionally painted to match the white and it looks great, very subtle and nice touch, the way Chevy should have done it. I am the original owner, and I did a museum delivery. So what this means for you the next owner is the PDI (Pre delivery inspection) is done by technicians at the museum who ONLY do Corvettes. A dealer PDI is done by guys that do Malibus, Silverados and Camaros all day. They might be OK, the museum guys do it exactly right every time because Corvettes are all they do. I took it even further and did the "buyers tour". This allows you to watch the car get built from a bare body buck and be the first person to push the starter button when its done. Pretty cool experience, and there is a benefit to you on that too. During the tour, the line managers would look at my tour guide and mouth the words "which one" meaning which car was mine. He would give them the number and several times I watched the line supervisor go through several parts before choosing a good one for this car. At least three rear hatches and an entire box of 12 headlights were rejected before they found the parts used on this car. I had the first oil change done at 600 miles serviced with Mobil 1, and two more since then. The car has been driven carefully but appropriately and has always been garaged and detailed. Its not just clean, Its never been truly dirty. The only significant option not chosen was the carbon brakes. I am a pro driver so let me explain why I did not get them. The carbon brakes are not any more effective than the steel brakes in normal use. They have two advantages on the race track. One is they weigh a lot less than the steel brakes so they accelerate slightly faster and slow slightly faster than steel. Second, the lighter weight makes the suspension respond more quickly and a pro driver can feel that difference on the track. The downside is they don't work great when cold. Although the Vette carbon brakes have good cold bite, I scared the crap outta myself on my last Z06 when the carbon brakes were virtually dead for a half second or so when a truck cut in front in of me after a long cold run on the freeway. Carbon is cool for racing, steel rules the street. I am happy with the car, but its time for a change and this one has to go! Let me suffer the big depreciation hit. I will have paid $3-4/mile in depreciation to drive this car. The sticker was right at $100k and its being offered for 30% less...there are a few of them on here, but none nicer.
