Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a very cool "Old School" Chevy wagon. I have had this car for 20 plus years. Soon to be 74 years old, I have come to the realization that performing simple maintenance on this car has become difficult. I will start by saying this is not a show car but rather a daily driver. However, it get thumbs up where every I go. I will make every attempt to describe this wagon, both plus & minus's to the best of my ability.Plus: In the past two years, I have spent close to $10K in upgrades to include, new Interstate battery, high volume water pump, tailgate T-handle, Vintage Air system, all new door locks, exhaust system w/Flow Master mufflers, new Edelbrock 600cfm carb, power master mini starter, new hood springs & bolts, crate 383 engine, new distributer, coil & Accel wires, transmission rebuilt by AAMCO, front grilled triple chromed, champion aluminum radiator, shroud, & 16" electric fan, electric wiper motor, and all new tires. Also included is a rare Bruce Jones surfboard. Exact mileage unknown. New speedometer installed when new engine & rebuilt transmission were installed. Under 5,000 miles.Negative: car does not have rubber door seals installed, but I have new replacement seals in the box. Engine appears to drip oil from rear seal. And of course this happen when the engine warranty expired, although very presentable, the paint job is approximately 25 years old and does show rust spots & blemishes, original front end but drives very nice. All glass is very nice, one chip in windshield that was epoxied/repaired by the insurance company. And last, and most important to note, this car/engine does NOT like the Arizona heat. I had the same heat problem with a stock 350. I thought a new engine would cure the dislike of the 90-110 plus degree heat but it did not. So if you live in a high temperature area, this cool wagon may not meet your expectations.
