Vehicle Detail
This 1968 Triumph was last on the road in 2003 and was a running and riding bike until someone stole the points assembly from it and that's how this bike came to be put up for the last 15 years. It was stored outside but under cover so the rust hasn't got a good hold on it aside from the present surface rust. The bike rolls freely but the engine is froze-typically when a bike sits for a long time the rings freeze to the cylinder walls and some marvel mystery oil loosens things up. I haven't dived into it and I know I won't anytime soon because I just picked up a 1961 Norton ES2 so off goes this machine to a deserving home and someone who will give it the attention it deserves. The frame number is T120RDU66465 and the motor number is T120RDU30689 with matching belly numbers 366. These numbers correspond to a 1968 Triumph 650 Bonneville frame and 1966 Triumph 650 Bonneville engine. The previous owner liked the bobber look so the rear wheel is a 16" stepped rim and the forks look like CB750 although they are junk and not good for anything beyond scrap but they allow the bike to roll. The clip-ons are rare and desirable Cuppini brand so that is a plus if you're leaning towards a Triton cafe racer project. The front wheel is CB750 but I will change out the pictured British 2LS drum brake front wheel for you before the auction ends so you will have 1 step in the right direction. Amazingly the previous owner kept the dual Amal 930 concentric carburetors and the air cleaners. The gear box clicks through normally and the miles are unknown. The stock gastank has just surface rust inside and the bottom edges are solid so coat it if you want to be safe before you run fuel through it. All in all a good starting point for your next build. Please review the pictures as they are part of the description and I'm available by phone at 2O6 725-CELL if you have any questions before you bid. I reserve the right to end the auction early as this bike is listed locally. No reserve so high bidder gets this bike. Clean and clear tile in my name in hand so bid confidently knowing the ownership transfer will be trouble free. Your $250 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours and the balance by wire transfer or bank cashiers check drawn from a major bank within 5 days. Paypal will be accepted for the final balance amount but only if special instructions are followed-call me for details. 1972 with T120V.
