Vehicle Detail
1987 Toyota Landcruiser for sale. Original carbureted 2F motor with 155,000 miles, 4-speed transmission, 3” Old Man Emu lift with like new 285/75/16 tires on 16” Aluminum wheels (with matching spare). The previous owner invested a lot of money in replacing/rebuilding various components of the wagon after buying it from his neighbors, who were the original owners. It has a current VA State Inspection valid until 12/2018. This is my current daily driver. The Good: All original wagon with complete interior and original 2F motor. Starts every time and has never left me stranded (daily-driven for the past month in Northern Virginia traffic). All factory gauges work and stay within normal operating parameters. Dealer maintained by the original owner for nearly 30 years (I have a folder of receipts, original window sticker, and even original purchase agreement). With the new power steering and brakes components, it stops and turns as it would right off the lot. The frame has surface rust, but I cannot find any structural rust or anything that would compromise its integrity. The floor pans are not rusted, nor have they been replaced. Both heat and AC work. Still has factory smog system with air pump intstalled. The Bad: Spots of body rust around the wagon, which is typical for early FJ’s. Both rear quarters are rusted with the left side showing the worst corrosion. Patch panels are readily available from several vendors and some of the rust has already been treated with POR15. The original owner repainted the wagon sometime in the early 90’s. The color does not match the original color, but it’s close. The right front fender was replaced, but never painted, along with the lower valence. The left front fender has had some bodywork done (most likely why it was repainted) and now shows surface rust. The roof is in good shape, the door jams appear to be rust-free, and the lower rocker panels appear to be in good shape also. The exhaust manifold gasket has a slight leak. I have a new gasket, but I haven’t gotten around to fixing it. New/rebuilt parts within the last two years/3000 miles:All new synthetic fluids (engine oil, coolant, transmission, transfer case, F&R differentials clutch lines, brake fluidExhaust system is new (Catalytic Converter, muffler through tail pipe)Cleaned/replaced fuel lines tank to carb (removed/cleaned/re-lined/reinstalled fuel tank, new fuel level sensor, new fuel tank tubes, new filter inside the tank, new fuel pump and fuel filter at the engine)Cap, rotor, & spark plugsRebuilt carburetor from CruiserParts.netRadiator, hoses, thermostat, and water pumpPower steering pump/lines/steering gear box (OEM Toyota >$1000)Oil pressure & water temperature sensorBall joints & tie rodsBrakes (Flex lines, caliper/cylinders, rotors/drums, hardware parts and pads/shoesNew brake master cylinderNew clutch master cylinder New clutch slave cylinderRebuilt birfield joints including: bearings (spider & axle), seals (inner, outer & wipers), bronze spindle races Rebuilt Aisin front lock-out hubsRear axle bearings and seals New battery & SS battery trayNew wipers front and backNew speedometer cableThis would make a great restoration project for someone or a great daily-driver/winter vehicle.
