2000 xr650r street legal, all original like new, it only had one ride totaling 37 miles. This bike is all stock just like the way it came off the showroom. the original tires still have the dimples on them...History;This bike belonged to one of my best friend's brother. He bought it new from Corona Honda and paid $1,800 extra to Honda dealer to make it street legal. He only rode it once totaling 38 miles, then right after he accepted a job offer in different state, got married followed with two kids, and you know the rest of the story. The whole time the bike stayed in my friend's garage and every time I went over there, I drooled all over it and ask them to sell it to me. Finally he let me have it about a month ago, All I did was clean the carburetor and oiled the cylinder through the spark plug hole, changed the air filter because it was deteriorating. It took several kicks to get her started it and I let it idle for 5 minutes.Now it starts on first or second kick. I come to realize that my 60 years old knees have hard time with the kick starter... The flaws on this bike;1-The sticker on gas tank got scratched and small piece peeled off in transport (visible in pics). It can be purchased from Honda2-Part of the front wheel and few spokes have surface rust. It is visible in close up pic. and I cant explain why only in that area and not the rest!!! It is not that bad.3-Very small gas leak from the petcock area.4-After a trip to DMV found out that they want $650 to bring the registration current!!! That is if you want Calif. licence plate. I think it is so unfair that I decided not to keep the bike and I hope someone from out of state buys it so they dont get the money. For off road registration there is no penalty and no penalty in any other state. I think this is as close as you can get to buy a brand new XR650r and a perfect bike if you are a collector since it is all original. I have the pink slip for the bike.
