Relisted for a 3rd time (!!!) because previous buyers were not able to pay! This is a one owner 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. We bought it new and have all the original papers. Two things wrong with it: It needs the hydraulic control unit for the brakes, which is expensive if bought new, so this is being sold as is for repair or salvage. The second issue is that occasionally the transmission slips when cold in reverse. When it warms up there is no issue, and it isn’t a regular event (maybe once every few weeks). Because of the brakes, this car is not drivable as is and will need to be trailered to its new home. It does start right up and it can be driven around the block and onto a trailer, but because of brakes, which are not operating smoothly, it shouldn’t be used more until fixed. Aside from the HCU and transmission, everything is fine, including the engine, hybrid battery, AC, and all the electrics. Car has approximately 145,000 miles. Still gets great mileage (about 28 on average. Sometimes much higher). Was well maintained. Has leather interior, power doors locks, power windows, power heated seats, and roof rack. Radio and speaker are very good. Tires are fairly new (maybe 10K miles). Has 2 inch draw bar and brake controller (which was hooked up by Ford, but never used) for a trailer. Body is in good shape with just the minor dings and scratches that one would expect from a car with 145K miles, but no major dents. Car has not been in any significant accidents. Airbags have never deployed. Interior is good except for about a 2 inch tear in leather passenger seat. Both body and interior would benefit from a good deep clean and detailing, but overall this is a solid car aside from the brake issue. Local pick up only. Pick-up is buyer's responsibility.
