Not to mention superior Lexus quality. Now 15 years old, it’d be a nice surprise to find a superior example of the species that you can own within one week at a NO RESERVE price which - in many ways - still looks, runs and drives like the day it rolled off the showroom floor. The most likely place to unearth such a rare gem would be Southern California, with its mild climate and large number of affluent, luxury sportscar enthusiasts. Such an amazing find is the miraculously well-preserved Lexus presented for auction here! This SC430 has been lovingly owned and pampered by a mature, female executive who commuted from her home in Long Beach CA to her work in the Orange Plaza, approximately 65 miles each day, round trip. Highway miles put much less “wear and tear” on any car and with the bulletproof drivetrain and superior engineering of a Lexus, this fine automobile has many years and miles to go! Let’s take a closer look now. Exterior: The immaculate body and trim not only speak volumes about the loving care this Lexus has always received but underscores its Southern California provenance. There is a tiny ding on the upper door which can be seen in the photos above and below. Even upon close inspection, this elegant SC430 is absolutely stunning. The paint finish on rear bumper cover has various scuffs, cracks and scratches (See above and below photos). The clear-coat on the rear spoiler has lifted (see above and below photos). There is a small dent on the top of the trunk, towards the front (see above and below photos). There is a very shallow dent on the lower-right 1/4 panel, just behind the passenger door (see above and below photos) There is a small area below the lower-right, bumper cover where paint is completely scratched off (see above and below photos). These assorted dings, scuffs and scratches are purely cosmetic and typical for most 15-year old cars. Most are only obvious upon closer inspection.Otherwise, the overall finish still looks fantastic. With laser straight body panels and sparkling finish there is NO evidence of rust or major repairs that would cause even the most discriminating owner sleepless nights. With newer radials, wheel detail is amazing. Speaking of detail, look how straight the body is, how glossy the paint: if you wouldn't know differently, you'd think to be looking at a 15-month old, not a 15-year old car… This one is that clean! We'll inspect the interior next, shall we? The SC430 open cabin presents itself 100% original. The fully retractable, weather tight, power convertible top folds down and up smoothly without any hiccups. With power adjust/heated leather seating, both driver and passenger will enjoy extended trips in this luxury cabin. The bottom of the driver’s seat has a split along the seam and the rear panel has come loose (see above and below photos).Aside from this and some minor surface wear on the driver's armrest, everything inside this luxury cabin is very well preserved. Although the wood doors no longer open or close automatically for the NAV display, and audio, they can be manually operated. The Lexus Navigation System triangulates by satellites and coordinates with a DVD-powered data base to plot the vehicle's earthly position and display it on a dash-mounted video screen. The dual climate control blows ice cold and the audio system with cassette and 6-disk CD guarantees pleasurable audio, even when with the top down and traveling at speeds well above the double nickel. Wood and leather lined steering wheel is in pristine condition The attractive analog instrumentation is easy to read. And the 200,000 meticulously maintained miles were almost ALL driven on the highway! Handles, buttons and switches throughout the entire interior show little (if any) wear. From the pristine dash and console with genuine wood trim to the plush carpet and leather bucket seats; nearly everything is in a wonderfully preserved state with minimal defects. Master remote, spare and valet keys are included as well as the complete Owner's Manuals in their original leather folder. This immaculate interior is testimony to a highly pampered Lexus. Alright, let's have a look inside the trunk. Inside are the original spare wheel/tire, jack and original tools. A picture tells a thousand words; this all original trunk is immaculate! Let's take a look under the hood. Engine & Mechanical: Raising the hood reveals the silky smooth, 8-cylinder power plant. The 4.3-liter DOHC 32-valve aluminum V-8 augmented by Toyota's VVT-i variable valve-timing system generates 300 horsepower with a 0-to-60 time of 6.6 seconds. With appearance and drivability of a car that’s always been pampered and meticulously maintained, this Lexus is mechanically as strong as it is cosmetically. Speaking of cosmetics, let us stress how straight the body is, how sparkling the trim, how glossy the paint: the car can best be described as Outstanding Overall Condition. Driving Experience: This elegant SC430 runs, drives, handles, and stops excellently. The engine starts quickly and idles very smoothly without any unusual noises.
