ORIGINAL PURCHASE INFORMATION: This Expedition had been purchased with the intent of being capable of another 100,000 miles or more. Repairs, maintenance, and purchased items to date reflect that goal. I’m not working now and need to sell this at a significant loss. The used purchase price was listed as $5,000.00 plus the cost of hundreds of dollars for many parts purchased, see pictures and description. When I purchased this Ford Expedition it started right up, ran smooth, no engine knocks or any rattling. It all sounded smooth. All air conditioning and heat worked well (front and rear A/C & Heat), shifted smooth, the 4 wheel drive worked and I could feel it engage, no visible leaks under it, tires were inflated. The rear defroster / defogger worked. This Ford Expedition is currently NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS PERFORMED SINCE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE (with the intent of getting another 100,000 miles or more out if it: Maintenance and repairs performed (since I purchased this Expedition had been performed within the past estimated 300 miles) with a goal of driving it for another 100,000 miles are as follows: New K&N performance air filter. Not installed, but is included with this auction.New Alternator installed (approximately $240.00). Brand new and not remanufactured.New fan belt installed (the previous belt in included as an extra if needed).New thermostat and gasket (not installed, but included with this auction).New automatic transmission filter (not installed, but not installed, yes included with this auction). The brake fluid has been complete changed with what I believe is the best 100% synthetic brake fluid by Lucas. Brake system completely blead (The Lucas 100% brake fluid bottle pictured does not come with this auction, it is for display purposes so you can see what was used). The power steering fluid was completely replaced with both Prestone power steering fluid and Lucas power steering fluid additive (The Lucas power steering bottle pictured Prestone power steering fluid bottle pictured does not come with this auction, it is for display purposes so you can see what was used).A brand new 2006 Ford Expedition documentation pack had been purchased and is included with this auction. All 8 spark plugs have been replaced with brand new spark plugs. Anti-Seize had been placed on the threads of the new spark plugs before the new plugs had been installed. 8 quantity performance brand new ignition coils, advertised as increasing fuel mileage (included with this auction). The 8 original all working coils are also included with this auction. The underneath of the Ford has been pressure washed and mostly sprayed with a rustoleum rust converter that changes surface rust into a paintable surface. The intent was to then spray the underside of the Ford with a Truck Bed Liner spray to help offer more protection and longer lasting protection than had been offered by Ford. Transmission cooling lines have been completely replaced with a kit from Ford, cost of that repair was around $500.00.The Ford Expedition came with 2 keys and 2 key bobs. I had purchased another key and key bob from Ford as a back-up and hat cost around $180.00 total fees including programming. All 3 keys and key bobs are included with this auction. CURRENT NEEDS OF WHAT I BELIEVE IT NEEDS / MY OPNION: Current needs of the Ford Expedition (as best as I can tell, I’m not a mechanic). I’m offering my opinion on what needs to be done and is as follows: This Ford Expedition is currently NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION.The timing set needs to be replaced. I started the repair work, but I don’t have the funds to complete the task because I’m out of work now and that is the only reason I’m selling it. Parts have not been purchased at this time. While the valve covers were off I was planning on changing the lack adjusters and roller rockers just because they were easily accessible. Parts have not been purchased at this time. The camshaft lobes felt good and I had planned on not replacing the camshafts. The oil had been drained in preparation for the timing chain set replacement approximately 2 weeks ago. There is some rust on the underside of the Ford above the running boards and below the door jams. I did not see rust on any of the door jams (on the door itself or on the Expedition). No spare tire.I believe that 1 tire needs to be replaced.Rear wiper does not work. This auction does not include a battery. The battery I purchased was the best I could find. It is a Duralast Gold 65-DLG and was advertised as having 1000 cold cranking amps at or above 32 degrees, 850 cold cranking amps below 32 degrees, and 150 cranking amps in reserve. A battery with more cranking amps than what is needed means the battery does not have to work as hard to start the vehicle and you will get more time out of that battery. A battery with the bare minimum or below needed cranking amps has to work hard to start the vehicle and will not last as long. This is an awesome battery. The battery cost me around $170.00. If you pay only a $50.00 deposit on PayPal and then bring me the rest of the money in cash, I will give you the battery because I don’t have to pay PayPal for receiving funds. The battery is not part of this auction. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: SALE PAYMENT INFORMATION: $50.00 dollar deposit within 72 hours. Can pay through PayPal or Cash only. PayPal is used to screen buyers. NO Other Form Of Payment Accepted. WARRANTY INFORMATION: No warranty. This is sold AS-IS and WHERE IS. No warranty expressed or implied. PICK-UP INFORMATION: This Ford Expedition is currently NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION. You will need to have it towed or flat bedded to where you would like it. The title MUST be transferred into the winning bidders name at time of pick-up through a local notary. Saturday mornings are best. I may be able to make arrangements for a pick-up time during the week on a mutually agreed time. Title must be transferred into your name before the vehicle is removed from the property. There is a local title service in Mansfield Pa, and another one in Covington Pa that would do the title transfer. Arrive early and plan for possible delays. I will not sign an open title. This is your security that ownership of the 2006 Ford Expedition will be in your full possession. Minimum $50.00 deposit within 72 hours through PayPal. Can choose to pay full value through PayPal if you want. RETURN INFORMATION: NO RETURNS. The sale is final. ANYTHING ELSE: I had replaced the bolts into the bolt holes on the Ford where the bolts had been removed from on many of the areas so it’s easy to tell where the bolts go during reassembly after the timing set is installed. All other available hardware had been saved and is with the Expedition. If it is not included with the sale, I did not have it to begin with. All hardware and parts have been saved together. There is a complete set of 5 tires, 5 rims, 4 chrome trim rings, and 4 new tire pressure monitoring sensors that I had purchased for this. This tire set is not for sale in this auction and is not included with this auction. The tires and rims are listed on a separate EBay auction from me that ends approximately 30 minutes after this auction ends. The reason for the 30 minutes delay in the tire package past the end of this auction is if a person wins this Ford Expedition auction… then that person would have the opportunity to acquire a complete tire set for this vehicle. I have excellent feedback because I’m an honest seller. I paid for the full picture pack available so you can see detailed photos of what you are bidding on and that you can bid with confidence. On Oct-31-17 at 08:59:36 PDT, seller added the following information: New information added 10/31/17: I'll do my best to answer your question. Yes, it ran good when I purchased it. The Ford Triton 3 valve engines has some issues with timing pieces after about 100k to 150k. Ford also had sparkplug issues with that engine. From my research the spark plugs had a tip design that if an owner waited the recommended 100k to change the spark plugs they could break and difficult to remove. I changed all the plugs after purchasing it and I put anti-seize on them. My plan was to replace them every 50k. After the spark plug change I also put new performance coils in (to possibly increase gas mileage, nothing wrong with original coils). On a test drive a few miles away from home the engine went into a low power mode (this feature is from Ford to protect an engine). It came to a stop. A local repair shop tested the OBD2 and told me that the timing was off 180 degrees. We both thought it was a timing issue. I pulled off the drivers side valve cover and it looked ok to me. I removed the front timing cover. In the picture you can see my finger pushing the passenger side timing chain to where it touches itself. You should not be able to do this. The timing chain tensioner on the passenger side was not working. The drivers side looked good and the chain was tight. The loose timing chain would allow it to skip some links and therefore would put the engine into a shut down mode. Again, I like to take care of my things and my plan was to replace all parts of the timing set. There are complete kits available on EBay. I was also going to replace the oil pump (around $60) and the water pump (around $50) just because those items were easily accessible if a person is doing a timing set replacement. A complete timing set on EBay is around $400-$500 including an oil pump and a water pump). What else can I share? It's a nice vehicle. It feels like a tank. Point it in a direction, hit the gas, and it will get you there! I hope this helped! End of new information added 10/31/17
