Vehicle Detail
It is with a huge regret that I put up for sale my 1982 HONDA CBX CUSTOM. An operation for a brain tumor in April 2017 has closed out a 50+ year riding career. I built this bike in 2014. At the time I had an 81 as well that the previous owner had spent thousands on in chrome work, all of which I transferred to the 82. This included the valve cover and 8 end caps, the crank end caps, the outboard carb tops, the entire alternator, the brake torque rod, the rear brake water deflector, engine side decorative covers and the rear brake lever. I have owned 6 CBX’s since they came out in 79 this is the best of them. It starts easy, runs perfectly hot or cold and turns heads whenever It is parked. The color is actually a Mazda color Called Velocity Red Mica, a 3 part paint-base-mid-clear which runs $800 a gallon. I also did a number of custom steel covers as well as a custom headlight shell to hold all the extra wiring much of which was chrome plated. The actual mileage is 2136 above the odo which is a 165 mph 79 unit, not the stupid stock 85 mph speed, so the bike has roughly 12, 400 miles on it. If you follow these bikes you know they are now sold investment grade motorcycles, not toys. Like H2 Kawasaki 2 strokes they continually appreciate….offered at $9,975 and comes with the 82 takeoffs as well as some custom CBX only special tools no longer available anywhere. Runs perfect, looks perfect, fast but no longer the fastest production bike, but unbelievably smooth. Also comes with a brand-new set of tires. I will gladly work with your shipper to ensure that the bike gets loaded up for transport. However, you must make sure that he understands that there are extra boxes that go with the bike. Also have a brand-new 6 into 2 phaser exhaust system that goes with the bike. This was never put on the motorcycle because I prefer the custom touches I added to the stock exhaust. If you live on the east coast of Florida and want to come and see the bike and hear it run, please feel free to contact me. 772-567-4760 or email me at cdk456@aol.com. I also have a single-rail motorcycle trail that you can borrow if you want to transport it instead of riding it home if you buy the bike.
