I purchased this pickup to haul my boat for the summer and now it's time to let them both go. My father and I have been fixing damaged cars for 30 plus years but this was one of those rare ones that comes along every now and again. This truck was stolen from the original owner back in Missouri and they made it all the way to California before they were caught. They were very smart thieves because they disabled the location devices within the truck (OnStar/Nav) which I'm told some people do just because they don't want "Big Brother" knowing their every move. The local Chevy dealer showed me what component was removed and it's less than $200 if you'd like to replace it. According to the California Highway Patrol, they had been driving the truck for several months before being pulled over in Fresno. It's assumed they knew the person they stole it from as they had both sets of keys and there was no evidence of forced entry into the vehicle. The only real damage was a dented rear passenger door which I had repaired and a dented bumper which I replaced with a new factory take-off. I fought with the insurance company to avoid a salvage title but they said that because the trucks original owner had been paid off, there was no way to eliminate the salvage title (DMV pretty much told me the same thing). So, because of the branded title, here's a truck that's never been wrecked or had any real damage for a lot less money. The CHP did a VERY thorough job inspecting this truck to ensure that there were no stolen/replaced parts so I can guarantee that it's all original. It does have a small dent on the lower rocker panel, the lower plastic portion of the front grill/bumper has some damage and there's a small chunk of the plastic missing from the tailgate cap. None of these things are very noticeable but they are pictured here in my listing. There are some light scratches here and there and a couple very minor dings you can only see at the right angles but again, not very noticeable. Not a big deal to me but if you're a perfectionist type person it wouldn't take much to make this truck perfect.
