If I wasn’t moving out of the country in less than a month, I wouldn’t sell it...I couldn’t sell it. I bought this car in late 2006, brand new from the dealer, in my favorite hue of Aurora Blue, and it was car love at first drive. The Mazda3 is so fun to drive, especially with the 5-speed manual transmission and the 2.3L 4-cylinder engine. Its 163 horses ride fast and smooth, and get me where I’m going with gas to spare, netting about 26 mpg on the streets and 32 mpg on the highway. It handles like a rally racer, has the tightest turning radius I’ve ever seen, and stops as fast as you can blink. I love driving my Mazda3 so much that I hardly ever stop, which is how I’ve managed to rack up 163,760 miles in the 10.5 years I’ve owned the car. My Mazda3 and I have had some amazing adventures in our decade together, exploring the deserts of Arizona, the forests of the Sierras, and the plains of Texas. We packed up and moved to Minnesota together, surviving 5 cold winters there before hauling ourselves back home to sunny Southern California. My Mazda3 even took me on a whirlwind weekend adventure from Minnesota to Washington D.C., enjoying the fall colors of Pennsylvania and the crazy D.C. traffic as we drove. The Mazda3, for all the work I’ve made it do, has never faltered, never failed. It’s carried up to four passengers around LA without complaint, drove me and my camping gear up the mountains and down to the beach like a champ, and powered through Minnesota snowstorms and icy roads as though it was made for them. After folding down the back seats, I have filled that car to the ceiling with my belongings, and although it looks small, it can hold more cargo than anyone could possibly expect. It once even carried a vintage Kimball electric organ home from the Goodwill, with only an inch to spare. And talk about reliable! This car has never broken down on the road or left me stranded. I have replaced parts as they’ve worn out, such as the thermostat, coil springs, shocks, brake pads, front brake discs, and clutch. Thankfully, I haven’t had to replace any parts due to premature failure, because Mazda built this car to last. I’ve kept up on regular maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations, which has kept the car running like new all these 10 years. Sure, it’s got some dings and little dents, but that’s to be expected when it had to travel around the LA/OC area for work, parking in a number of lots and streets every weekday. It also has a broken lens on the driver side fog light, thanks to a large rock or chunk of ice kicked up by a semi-truck on a Minnesota highway. Even so, the fog light still works, as this car simply refuses to let me down. And now, after everything this car has done for me, I must reluctantly let it go. It’s just been registered through September 2018, after easily passing the Smog test, as usual. It has two new tires, a new clutch, and at least another 150,000 miles left in it, and it’s just waiting for you to hop in and take it on new adventures! Please message me for more information or to set up a time for a test drive. Thank you for your interest! ~ Andrea
