We recently purchased this FJ40 from the previous 77 year old Montana owner who had owned it since 1996 and as you can tell in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy for sure !! He told us that he was the second owner and the 65,369 miles shown on the odometer are the ACTUAL ORIGINAL miles, although we have no way of proving it. Just look at this thing though !! This FJ40 was PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED in 2015 by Last Chance Land Cruisers in East Helena, Montana. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Montana - Idaho High Mountain Desert - Western vehicle and it shows! I drove this Land Cruiser for the last several days and I assure you it runs and drives VERY WELL, TOO FUN !! At the heart of this RARE BEAUTY is a VERY STRONG !! - Code "TBD" - GM 350 CID V8 motor that is running VERY WELL. The motor also sports a Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor, Delco-Remy HEI ignition, GM air cleaner housing and GM "Rams Horn" exhaust manifolds. Sounds GREAT too with the true dual side exit exhaust system. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - BULLETPROOF - Code "M-561" GM 4 speed manual transmission that also functions very well and sports a 2 speed HI/LO transfer case that feeds power to the BULLETPROOF - ORIGINAL FJ40 front and rear axles !! The GM "M-561" manual transmission was originally used in the Military M561 "Gama Goat" 6X6 All-Terrain articulating vehicle and is extremely desirable in the Off-Road community due to it's small size and reputation as being robust and virtually indestructible. All of the exterior body trim and moldings are in VERY NICE condition including VERY NICE Original badging, NICE ORIGINAL Front grill, NICE Diamond Plate side steps and rear body armor and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Steel front bumper. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses & reflectors are clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL! This vehicle is in GREAT mechanical condition and it runs and drives VERY WELL! It is solid with respect to the overall mechanical condition as well as the overall cosmetic impression.
