Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 2003 Honda VTX 1800 motorcycle trike that belongs to me. It is in excellent condition. The kit is a Motor Trike kit and has the straight axle with adjustable air ride suspension and almost-new Goodyear tires. The bike is Dakota red and has -- · Mustang seat with back rest· Windshield· Tach· Driving lights· Battery light· Pull-back risers· Luggage rack· Sissy bar· Leather touring case· Cobra passenger floor boards· Front fender trim· Highway bars with foot pegs· Floor boards and tank bra· Power Commander (the bike can be tuned up or down for gas mileage or power) I bought this trike about two months or so ago thinking that because of my recent back problems I might prefer a Trike over my Yamaha Stratoliner. I thought I would put a hitch on it and pull my camper, but I've ridden two wheels for so long I'm not comfortable on a trike and I already had the other bike set up. I have decided that I will stick with the Stratoliner. The Honda trike does not have a reverse gear, but like two-wheel bikes, that is not a problem. The windshield was broken and I ordered a new one (a Memphis Shade) but it does not fit like it should, so I'm selling the trike with the old windshield and the new one, and you can see if you can get it to fit. History The original owner that I bought it from bought it new. He had it converted to a trike, I think he said, within the first year. He and his wife rode together but when she got sick they stopped riding. It had about 13,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has about 14,150 or thereabout. The Motor Trike conversion kit was installed by Bettis (I think they have gone out of business). I have included a link to the company if you want to take a look. http://www.motortrike.com/trikeVTX.aspx I called Motor Trike about the kit and they do not sell to individuals-- only to "factory trained or certified" installers. The broken windshield:- It has a Slip Stream windshield with windshield bags that the previous owner said was broken (a piece off the side) when something in his garage fell on it (it was kept inside all its life). I ordered a Memphis Shade thinking it would fit (and it will. with a little tweaking) but I didn't install it. We are getting ready to move, I hope, and I have so many irons in the fire I can't keep up. Anyway, if you want to give me a yell I'll tell you anything I know about the bike and how it rides and its condition. Thanks. 540-514-0072 cell I am in Winchester, VA. NOTE: The Motor Trike kit is about $7400 not including the paint ($1200), wheels, luggage rack etc. For a pricing sheet for the kit go to this site. http://www.motortrike.com/docs/VTX_1800_PRICING.pdf
