Hello and thanks for viewing our 1996 XJ Cherokee. We purchased this unit from a local municipality where it was used very lightly for parking enforcement and stored indoors overnight. The truck was maintenanced every 3k miles and no expense was spared on its upkeep. Since it was stored indoors there is no rust anywhere on the body at all. There is nothing but light surface rust on the frame. There is no rot anywhere on the truck. The paint shines bright and is not dull or faded. There are no major dents or scratches anywhere on the Jeep. since it was municipality owned it was never smoked in and never had any pets inside. Cosmetically it is in extremely good condition forIt's age. This jeep is accident free and has a clean auto check report and a clean title. When it comes to the mechanics this Jeep is also a real winner. The engine starts right up with a quick turn of the key and it runs strong and quiet with no ticks or taps. The transmission shifts right on the mark and goes perfectly thru all its gears. Everything on the inside works as it should. The air blows ice cold and the heat blows hot. There is no cracked glass and the tires are in very good condition and have plenty of life on them. These jeeps are getting harder and harder to find especially with low mileage and no rust. It is equipped with the legendary 4.0 which is no longer made by Jeep any more. When it comes to reliability these trucks are on a level of their own. I have owned some with over 400k miles and have heard of them reaching almost 1 million. Car and driver rated the 4.0 Inline 6 as one the top 3 engines that "refuse to die" . If you continue to take care of this rig like it was you can expect to have this for many many more years to come. Another great thing about this one is the fact that it was municipality owned wich means its 100% bone stock. No aftemarket anything was put on here. It is a virgin and ready for its new owner to customize to their choosing or keep it the way it is. This is one of the nicer pre 97 XJs I had the privilege of listing.
