Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3200. Bought 4-5 years back, unloaded in a friends garage and never got a chance to do anything with it. Started when brought home, last owner sold when he closed his business, "The Pick-Up Connection" in Pennsylvania. The last thing he said to me was " I just put the intake and carb on, drain old gas before starting". I am now moving and can't take with me. Previous title state was Virginia. It is a solid and straight truck. For the drive train, it has a small block Chevy, I found one casting which looked like 897001, I looked at various sites and found 3970010 as close, which is a 69 302. to get exact you would need to remove distributor and knock down some paint, I also pulled some numbers from the front and posted on some Chevy Sites and got back everything from 82 Canadian Built 350c.i.to 69 Corvette 302,327 or 350. Topped off with what looks to be an Edelbrock Mid Rise Aluminum Intake and Carter Competition Carb. Blue paint on bottom end looks to be fairly new. The engine does run. It has a TH350 automatic transmission and a 12 bolt rearend with newer air assist shocks. The rest of the chassis looks to be all original. I found no rust out in any of the frame rails, see pictures. As far as the body goes, It has very little rust, which I have included in pictures. Seems straight and solid throughout-but at 58 yrs old I am sure it has had some work done. The steel in bed has been tack welded down, is going to need a new wood bed if so desired. Size of bed floor is 7'6" X 4'1". The interior looks as though it has been coated with Por-15, I did remove the gas tank and will include with sale. I was looking at other options-did not like the fact it was mounted in the cab. Someone had mounted a radio in the steel dash. Original Bench seat does have a tear in it. Was originally a 3 speed and the old clutch pedal still exists. Turn signal rod has been replaced with a long piece of threaded steel. The truck has drum brakes at all 4 corners, needed to pull rear drums for loading on trailer and are included. I also have a pair of 2 tone cloth bucket seats and center console I will include. The odometer shows 33XXX miles, the title is exempt on mileage. The 3200 was the 3/4 ton rating at the time and has 6 lug hubs. Anything else I can answer for you, feel free to ask. I did fog the cylinders and started the other day, there was a leak from carb, could be dirt or need of new gasket. The truck is also being offered locally and will cancel only if full asking price on my end is met, If there are bids on the truck I will pull from local sale. I ask that a deposit of $500 be made within 48 hours of auction and full payment within 7 days UPDATE: Had some time while waiting to show and the Carb issue has been fixed. Truck starts with no issues on 4th or 5th crank of engine.
