Vehicle Detail

True 1968 Super Sport CB-450 KI silver tag model and not a '69 model. Original paint bike with original engine and correct 1 year only seat (needs recovered). Original double cut fender, mufflers and silver tag still on the bike! I picked this up a couple years ago and washed it down and got it running to asses the engine and transmission but never went beyond that except to install the handlebars and turn signals that came with the bike. The overall condition suggests this bike was stored indoors and the frame number is CB450-3006184 and the matching engine number is CB450E-3006220. Honda made about 8900 '68 model CB450 bikes and this small of a production run is similar to the number of Sandcast CB750 models produced so get classic bike style here for 1/10th the price plus you get all the classic bike future appreciation value during the time you own it. Because this bike hasn't been on the road in basically 40 years you'll want to do basic wake up maintenance before you go riding like lube the chassis, change the oil, change out the battery and check the wiring connections, etc. A deep cleaning and polishing will make this bike really stand out. If it were me I would get fork shrouds and new cables although these cables do actuate smoothly and release. I would polish the aluminum parts and source a new left muffler. The gas tank looks great inside with only light surface rust. No flaking, just a light sheen of surface rust. New fork seals are probably needed as the front wheel was dirty but that probably helped preserve the chrome so no complaints here. There is evidence of fall damage on the front fender tip and the tach has dimmer paint markings so I'm sure it was replaced after the accident. The rest of the bike looks like it came out ok except the brake pedal/cover damage. There is a shallow impression on the right gas tank side panel but that looks like it happened at another time. The mufflers are solid and clean with no road rash anywhere (left muffler has battery acid marks) and I'm sure the handlebars are not original because these look a little taller than stock. Miles are 15,210 and it comes with the OEM Honda key too. I started it again this year so it's a runner but it will need the normal carb cleaning and sync and the battery is dead. This CB450 was probably sold new in 1969 as it has a '69 spec tail light on it. I have a 1968 Honda taillight that I will include if you want it. I purchased this bike locally here in the Seattle, WA area and the green license plate was standard issue in 68 and 69 so this bike has probably been a Seattle bike it's whole life. Comes with a clean and clear Vermont registration title in my name and I guarantee you can transfer this title into your name and title this bike in your state-feel free to call me for details. Selling only because I picked up CL450 #10 and that bike now has priority. I already have a CB450K0 and a CB450 with some D kit parts so this bike is the one for sale:-( While I have described the bike to the best of my abilities, I am not a professional mechanic. Therefore, this auction listing is subject to inadvertent errors and omissions. I welcome and encourage all prospective buyers to come and check out the bike in person or ask a representative to inspect it prior to bidding. Please look closely at all the pictures on a desktop computer to best see the condition as the pictures are the majority of the description. The bike is being sold 'as is' with no warranty or guarantees. If you have any questions please email me and I'll get an answer to you within 24 hours. My contact number in case you have any detailed questions is 2O6 725-CELL. $300 deposit via Paypal is due within 24 hours and is non refundable. Winners must contact me by email or phone within 3 days of auction end. Since this auction ends on a Sunday night there will be last minute bidders trying to steal your new 1968 CB-450 away from you so bid wisely and use ebay's Proxy Bid system to your advantage. Good luck and thank you for winning!!!!
