Outside of anything with fried eggs for headlights, this is your best path into 911 ownership. 997.1 6 speed 911s are considered the last of the analog 911s before they got too big, too computerized, and all turbo. This corrects all the problems with the 996 car (1998-2004 model), and I should know, because I've owned both. This car:An absolute head turner, ready to be valet parked up front. Everyone thinks this car is 2-3 years old. The Hardtops are worth more than convertibles on these models, less to go wrong, lighter, more structural rigidity, better in hot/cold weather extremes, quieter etc. The six speed is more desirable than the PDK on the 997.1, the best transmission I've ever driven. It has been serviced by a Porsche master mechanic by the last owner, and at the best Porsche shop in all of Arizona by me (Stuttgart Southwest in Tempe). I have thousands of dollars of receipts showing the work that has been completed in the last few years. This car has been trouble free the last year that I've daily driven it. This is a 100% non-smoking car. The A/C blows cold enough to keep me at the right temperature in 120F Phoenix summers without tinted windows. This car feels tight as a drum, exhibits nothing to let you know that it's got over 120k miles on the clock. It accelerates quickly, idles smoothly, brakes forcefully, and handles like a dream. No weird noises, bumps, or squeaks. 0 accidents reported. Recently added/replaced:Alternatorspark plugsignition coilsK&N air filter200 amp hour gel-filled batteryBluetooth retrofit that allows for Siri/Google Now voice control, handsfree phone, all while using the stock PCM.
