Vehicle Detail

1965 Ford Mustang convertible for sale. Sharp looking Poppy Red car with black standard interior with a white power top. Car is powered by a 4 bbl 289 cu in V8 with a 4 speed manual transmission. Nice straight daily driver that runs fantastic and stops evenly. A great car to hit the local car show the day you get it. BODY AND PAINTCar shows history of a restoration work. Floor was patched on both passenger and driver side but done well. Some work was done to the lower quarters. The suspension appears pretty much stock. The paint has a couple dings but doesn't detract from its overall appearance. It is driver quality paint job but is nice and shiny. Pictures show it accurately. No signs of collision damage. All exterior chrome in great shape. All trim is present. Has trumpet exhaust valance. GT striping. INTERIORSeats are in great shape with no tears or splits. Carpet is brand new. Door panels and dash pad are in good shape as are window and door handles. All lights and electrical are working. The power top has an intermittent issue on going up and down but always completes the cycle, possible switch issue. Convertible top latches as it should. Don't know if radio works or not. Has rare option of chrome rocker covers by the sill plates. Can be seen in photos. DRIVE TRAINHas a rebuilt 289 cu in V8 but unsure of the year but 60's era. It is a 4 barrel carburetor. This car was an original "T" code car but was converted to a V8 car. Does have five lug wheels all around and has a newer dual exhaust set up. This is a complete conversion. The springs were changed, the rear end was changed, bushings were changed and spindles were changed. Had conversion checked out by local Mustang shop. Standard 8" rear end. 4 speed manual transmission and clutch shifts as it should. Car is a pleasure to drive, it sounds great and is very quick. WHEELS AND BRAKES14" wheels. Tires are in great shape. 4 wheel drum brakes that operate properly. UNDERCARRIAGEThe underside has surface rust and signs of floor repairs. The other components appear in good condition and original. The engine compartment is pretty tidy and should detail nicely. No signs of any leaks despite the car has been sitting according top the previous owner. The convertible top is like new and the rear window is plastic and very clear. Not fogged up. Comes with a black boot and a bag for the boot. There is some pitting on the chrome trim that the boot snaps to but not rusted. The Mustang is an iconic car and the red '65 Mustang convertible is one of the most iconic cars of all time. I hate the expression "turn key" but this is a good dependable higher end daily driver that can be upgraded as you cruise it. Its gonna turn heads and look good at the cruise-ins. This car is being sold "as is" and is described to the best of my ability. If you need additional photos or want to have it inspected please let me know before the end of the auction. NO OVERSEAS BIDDERS.
