Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is my trusty Subaru Forester. I bought it from my parents about 4 years ago. While it could use a little work, I've been using it as my daily driver up until last month when I purchased a new car with my wife. The check engine light is on and the cruise control light is blinking. I ran a scan and it says that the catalytic system is low. It also says there was a misfire on cylinder 2. When driven for any length of time the car smells like oil is burning. I've been reassured this is one of the power steering hoses leaking and not engine oil. This car has not had its head gaskets replaced. It does not seem to be leaking oil or burning oil. The timing belt, thermostat, water pump, and all associated pulleys were replaced about 7,000 miles ago. Both O2 sensors (in front and behind the catalytic converter) were replaced at the same time. The dent on the hood was caused by a large piece of ice sliding off a roof and landing on my car in Chicago. This car has not been in any accidents. There is a chattering of the front wheels when in AWD when taking tight turns - I've never had this looked at. I tend to run in with the AWD disengaged when it isn't the snowy season and have had no problems at all with that. The interior is a little dirty, the stereo is not original but works great, the seats front seat have some tears but I usually keep covers on them. Bike racks not included. Let me know if you have any other questions. Sold as is - I'm not a mechanic but I know a good deal about cars so I'll try to answer anything I haven't covered here. Thanks for looking.
