Vehicle Detail
1971 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon- Beautiful, Classic and All Original You will step back into 1971 the moment you sit down in this beautiful Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon! The interior and exterior is all original. It has the original engine only it's been completely rebuilt from top to bottom. There have only been 112 miles put on it since being redone but it drives like a dream! It has a manual transmission. All the paperwork is provided in the pictures showing a detailed description of all the time, work and money invested into this bus. Absolutely free and clear title. There is NO work needed to get in and drive it away. The interior is needing a little TLC but that's expected for a 46 year old vehicle. Pictures are very clear and show the interior well. This VW needs to go to a great home where it is truly appreciated for it's beauty and class. On Jun-03-17 at 23:16:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Just added a few more pics of the inside so check them out. Also, Cash in person is the preferred method of payment but will accept money orders and cashier's checks from an established Ebay account holder. On Jun-05-17 at 08:51:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions on the vehicle. First my loving girlfriend placed the ebay posting and although we do drive on the right hand side of the road in the U.S. The bus is not a right hand drive. How I acquired the Bus? The previous owner and I share the same repair facility which in my view is by far the best in our area. I was having work done and noticed the bus sitting in front of his shop for sale. I asked my friend the shop owner about the bus he stated the engine had just been rebuilt along with other work and it was a solid vehicle. He said the owner of the bus was getting divorced. I called the owner he struck a deal and fast forward to today. I drove the bus back to my office that day and other than a few drives around the block it has sat waiting to hit the road. Well, "The Man" is still holding me back from my dreams. So, although I want to keep it. I don't want it to end up like so many of these Buses that are on this site, all rusted out and not running which to me is a shame. I do have receipts for a little over $3k worth of work on the motor/exhaust/carb etc. I've owned the vehicle for 2 1/2 years and have put a little over 100 miles on it. So the rebuild has maybe 2-300 miles on it. It runs great, starts right up and drives down the road straight. The rear brakes are a little touchy but we have driven it a little bit lately and they are getting better. The Bus just really needs to be driven. I have had a lot of interest from people who have never owned an old vehicle let alone an old VW. So let me say this is a 46 year old vehicle and a VW Bus!! It runs great but your 2008 Neon has 3 times the horsepower. Steep hills will be a challenge, speed limit signs will take on a whole new meaning, expect a oil droplet on the driveway, Yes! that is how you get it in reverse. That being said you are getting a solid Bus. The body is 98% rust free. As you can see in the pics the rear hatch has some damage as well as the lower drivers door. But that's it! I can't find any body work or filler anywhere. The brake and turn signal lights all work. Windshield wipers work. The interior is a blank canvas. It has the original back seat that needs recovered. The front seats are in excellent condition. I just want to make sure it goes to someone that will appreciate and know what to expect. Although I have had it for almost 3 years I've never had the opportunity to own it. To own it you need to drive it. It's not about going from A to B. But the stories and people you meet along the way. There was supposed to be a reserve on the Bus. I'm always in a hurry so I may have forgot to tell her that. So the secrets out the buy it now is supposed to be my reserve. I guess it's going to sell regardless so I have my story. Good Luck Bidding and I hope it goes to a great home. Please ask any other questions you'd like.
