Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a beautiful '63 Corvair Spyder with several upgrades for creature comfort, drivability, and reliability. Stuff I've done with the car: Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition (2017)New cap, rotor, wires, and plugs went in along with the Pertronix (2017)Optima Yellow Top battery (2017)Turned drums, new shoes, new wheel cylinders all around (2016)7" Android touchscreen with modern speaker mounted in the original location (2015) -- supports Waze, Google Maps, Pandora, Amazon Music, etc by connecting to your phone's Wifi hotspot -- in addition to normal stuff like AM/FM/CD.Clark's vacuum advance / pressure retard for easier starting and better idle without sacrificing knock protection on boost (2015)Dakota Digital cylinder-head temperature gage in the back (2015) -- the analog temperature gage on the dash works when it feels like it, but usually not. The Dakota has a long enough lead to run up to the dash -- I just never got around to doing it. LED dash, cabin, turn signal (with electronic flasher), license plate, and brake lights (2014) Stuff the previous owner did with the car:Modern buckets in front and custom upholstery all aroundCustom Spyder embroidery on all seatsCustom Corvette-style black cloth (not vinyl) topActually clear rear folding windowLocks redone for a single key (doors, trunk, glove box, and ignition) Alloy wheels and modern tires Undercoating to prevent rustElectric chokeElectric fuel pump up front regulated down to carb-safe pressure in back with a return lineUpgraded solenoid in the back to prevent starter issuesModern alternatorModern Chrysler paint General stuff about the car:Engine is the stock flat-6 150 turboTurbo spools fine and makes boostFour on the floorRuns on pump gas. I run premium, because turboRegistration is current and she's a grocery getter for meThe driver's seat has power adjustments, but neither the previous owner nor I got around to running a power line to it. In the most recent pictures, you'll see two different kinds of headlights. The black ones are LED Daymakers -- they work great, but I only got around to replacing one side before I got distracted by other projects. They plug into the stock harness and it's easy enough to go back to sealed beams if you don't like them. You can see in the last picture that like most Corvairs, she does mark her spot. For reference, that's 3-months worth of parking there with outings a couple times a week. It's mostly the left valve cover. I've played around with it and can get it to stop leaking for a while, but it tends to come back. It is a Corvair after all. I'm selling the car mostly because arthritis makes wedging my 6'5 frame behind the wheel more difficult every year. I'm happy to show the car and do test drives in real life. I want my buyer to know exactly what they're getting. All that said, the car is of course sold as-is where-is. Reserve is set at $8,000. I've got ~$13,000 in it, not counting my time. On May-31-17 at 18:59:34 PDT, seller added the following information: I should mention for clarity that the "Mileage" of "1" does not mean the car has 1 mile on it. It means it's a vintage automobile and I cannot be sure of the mileage. The odometer reads 19k and change. I don't know for sure if it's even the original odometer.
