Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1980 Suzuki that i bought from the original owner 17 yrs. ago. Excellent to Very Good condition. 99% original. 5 Speed. Runs, shifts, idles outstandingly. Starts easily. Brakes fine. No rust in tank. It's never been dropped, crashed. Has always been adult owned. I'm in my 50's and the gentleman i bought it from would now be in his 60's. Never been outside overnight. Always stored for Winter in my garage, covered, tank topped up & stabilizer added. Battery pulled and put on a Tender. I don't 'race' it, do wheelies, etc., don't know how. I've ridden it leisurely & regularly putting around 11,000 miles on it since 2000. Had @ 10,500 on it when i bought it, orig. owner having owned it 20 yrs.. Paint is all original. Has various incidental rubs, scratches, dimples...all minor, from ordinary handling over the years. Top left side of engine weeps oil, always has. Fella i bought it from said it had started in the late 1990's a few years before i bought it. Annually i ask my mechanic about it when i have it inspected and he repeatedly tells me he wouldn't bother with it. Doesn't effect the running of the bike in any way. Tires are Dunlop elite 491's and will need replacing next season. Battery acts fine but probably has a season, maybe two left in it. None of the fluids are due to be changed but it could stand an oil/filter change if you like. .... I've owned 14 motorcycles over the last 30 years and this was my absolute favorite. Many have come and gone but this one stood the test of time. I won't launch into a description of all its virtues so suffice to say, it was the finest all around bike i've ever ridden, period. I just don't have the time or desire to ride it like i used to. It's sold as is. I can help you load it if you plan to pick it up yourself. If you live within a few hours of Rochester, NY, ... ride it home! It'll go anywhere you want. I've sold bikes in the past, please see my feedback. I've had buyers use "Haul Bikes" a couple times & they appear very professional. This however is completely your responsibilty. Email me w/ any questions, glad to answer. Thanks for looking & Best of Luck. .... Please note the following: Decorative plastic strip that borders right side of seat is missing (intact on left side). Rubber "skirt" that extended from rear fender down past curve in swingarm is missing. Bars are original, grips original, all turn signals original. Mirrors are original... these few things are oftentimes changed out over the years. Seat all original, no tears in cover. All decals are intact & original. Side covers have no cracks, none of the studs are broken off that pop the covers into place and none have been glued back on. Exhaust is original and has rust on undersides, has never gotten worse since i've owned it. Lastly, this bike has a "gear position indicator" (always loved that), the 2nd gear light occasionally does not light up. More often than not it does. This bulb, the seat side strip, & the rubber rear fender skirt would probably total you less than 50 dollars on Ebay.
