Vehicle Detail
You are looking at my 1975 R90S. I'm sure you know the history of this great BMW. I have had this since 2011 and ride it pretty often and never had any problems with the bike. It has several upgrades: Dyna Electronic Ignition which eliminates the points. The system has Hall effect magnetic sensors to eliminate the points, an amplifier and high output dual coils with dual plug setup. A relay with direct battery power to the ignition circuit was installed at the same time. Progressive Suspension shocks were installed a few years ago, they ride very smooth and helped the handling. I believe the fork brace is a San Jose item, a very sturdy piece. The diode board was repaired and updated and a "Ground Kit" installed, it charges at idle and shows 14 volts past 1500 rpm. Luftmeister exhaust, it is pretty quiet untill you get on the throttle, and then it sounds great. A pretty rare system. Oil temperature dipstick and extended sump oil pan cooler, and adds 1 more quart of engine oil.I just recently installed a new OEM BMW steering damper. The bike had an oil change, tranny oil and rear oil change in September of 2016 and has about 300 miles since then. It has a "ride off" center stand which works nice. I also have the original center stand with new bushings and springs to go with the bike. It also comes with a big Clymer Shop manual. The battery box and all the frame behind the engine, the swing arm and the rear subframe was stripped to clean metal and primed with Epoxy Primer and painted with Sikens 2-part Black single stage paint. There was some paint damage from years ago, probably from battery acid so I just replaced the battery with a new sealed unit. No more acid leaks. There is some paint damage at the right lower rear of the gas tank and a few scratches on the tail section. The tank scratches were caused by the aftermarket dual seat that came with the bike, they fit sloppy. The bike runs strong, no smoke and shifts nice thru the gears. The clutch splines were cleaned and greased right after I got the bike, it really smoothed up the clutch release. This is not a concours bike, but a very nice rider that shows very nice. There is no reason why you couldn't ride this bike home to where ever that may be. I just don't have time to ride it and have too many other projects. There are 2 YouTube links to videos of the bike below.Good luck bidding, I'm sure you will be happy with this bike. I have started at a fair price with no reserve.I will work with your shipper, or have yourself a fun road trip and ride it home. https://youtu.be/4RYwmADdejQ https://youtu.be/7Et_sTwL6Q8 On Apr-29-17 at 16:56:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone wanted to see the scratches on the tank. The repaired scratches are visible in picture 14, the right rear side of the gas tank.I touched them up with a brush, I'm sure a body/paint guy could do a better job.
