Vehicle Detail

96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE No one convinces you to buy a 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible. You are not sold such a car. You simply want it. You remember the first time you saw it; perhaps it was in a movie like Goldfinger, or perhaps it was in person the first time you saw the suicide doors open; something so cool was simply inconceivable. As you look at it now, over 50 years after its birth, it somehow seems even cooler. The 1965 Lincoln Continental makes modern cars look haphazard, cheap, and plain wrong. Its clean lines stretch effortlessly toward the horizon in either direction; every design detail is pure vintage artistry. As you run your eyes down its flank you are immediately nostalgic for 1960s America. Behind the wheel of a '65 Continental convertible, that dream doesn't feel so out of reach. This two-owner vehicle has just over 110k miles on the chassis. This car is richly equipped including a completely overhauled working electric convertible top, six-way power seats, electric windows and locks, and frosty functional factory A/C. Some minor mechanical and cosmetic work remains to be done, but the heavy lifting is complete on this multi-year project. This Lincoln is impeccably finished in deep midnight blue and features a new leather tuxedo interior and new carpets throughout. The engine and transmission are in top functioning order after significant investment in time, expertise and money. Asking price does not come close to the investments made in the vehicle but the car must be sold. Below is a list of restoration details: · New “Deep Midnight Blue” paint (media blasted prior to paint, professionally painted) · New black convertible top · New tuxedo leather interior · Recently replaced front and rear shocks · Completely new wiring harness · New steering components including steering gear box, rag joint and neutral safety switch (complete steering system renewal) · Recently (90 days) Alignment · Remanufactured motors for electric doors and convertible operation · New carpet throughout including trunk · New rubber and moldings throughout · Original workhorse high torque MEL engine and transmission. Both renewed in the last 2,000 miles. New timing chain and gear set. Carb rebuilt. Cam and Crankshaft kit. New thermostat, fuel pump, hoses, and belts. Running well. · New alternator and battery · New spare tire cover · Electronic Ignition and new plugs · Newer starter · New Master Brake Cylinder and brake refresh · Chrome parts all re-chromed · Recently tuned up and given fresh oil and lubrication
