This is a fully frame-off restored CB400F Super Sport Resto-mod with a tasteful cafe theme. This bike runs beautifully, looks amazing, and gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes. Many painstaking months have gone into executing a proper build with a nearly obsessive attention to detail in order to get everything right - a true labor of love. Let's go over everything in detail and let the bike speak for itself. The description is quite long, but there's a lot here to talk about. I am certain there are more things which have been forgotten, but I'd be glad to answer your questions. Dozens of new parts have been installed, either new OEM, or the best options from the likes of 4into1.com, Dime City, or Dave Silver Spares. Everything else has been professionally hand-crafted specifically for this machine with some revisions along the way in order to find the best solution for each element. Not only does everything work superbly but it's right, tight, and looks fantastic. Function and comfort are a huge focus here - this bike was built to be ridden and enjoyed rather than an artsy machine which looks nice but is torture to actually use. The engine has been overhauled; new valve stem seals, valve guides, cam chain & tensioner, primary chain, stator, clutch pack, starter clutch, lapped-valves, and of course all gaskets and seals. All of the engine surfaces were individually media-blasted before receiving a high-temp engine enamel coating before being reassembled and torqued to spec with all new fasteners. The compression is really high afterward - rings and bores look great. For cosmetics, the cycle sports a vibrant Omni Metallic Blue from PPG on the tank, tail, and gauge housings. The tank is from a CB350 Twin with a locking gas-cap. On the tank are some one-off CNC aluminum Honda badges which came out beautifully. These badges, the tank cap, a couple engine components, and the front brake stabilizer bars have a Duplicolor Anodizing Metalcast coating. The seat pan/cowl is a hand-made stainless steel unit which elegantly conceals the electrical and sports a lovely "400 Four" decal. The custom seat cover is a premium outdoor vinyl with 40mm of padding which is remarkably comfortable for short or taller riders. The frame has been media blasted and painted a durable gloss silver including the often-skipped things like the swingarm, rear brake stabilizer bar, and engine mount plates. A custom aluminum side license plate bracket has been welded up. The rear-set foot controls were set up with adjustable linkages, knurled pegs, and custom CNC aluminum brackets. The top triple clamp has been machined down and topped with a new chrome nut. Both triples have been painted to match the frame. The head has a nice tapered roller bearing conversion and handles beautifully. The handlebars are chrome clip-ons which can be adjusted in/out to suit the height of the rider along with the rear-set controls. New renthal grips are mated to a new throttle tube & cables, and topped off with anodized aluminum bar-end mirrors. The new vintage styled levers and perches are positioned comfortably and are quite responsive with new cables. The wheels have been media blasted to a mirror shine and finished with an oil-proof coating to prevent any oxidation or rust. The front wheel is from a 350 twin with a drum. Both front & rear have new wheel bearings and sintered brake shoes that stop super well. The forks have been blasted down with the lowers being painted to match the frame, then were reassembled with new seals and gaiter covers. The front fender has been shortened up and painted to match. New vintage-style tires and heavy-duty tubes have been fitted, along with new sprockets and a final-drive chain. The rear RFY canister shocks are quite responsive and match nicely. The original 4-into-1 headers are capped with a shorty muffler tip, have titanium header wrap, and were mounted with new exhaust gaskets. The carburetors have been fully rebuilt, starting with ultra-sonic cleaning, new gaskets and jets, new floats, synchronization, and final tuning to match the new filters and exhaust so the bike pulls smoothly through all rev-ranges. New fuel hose has been mated to the new petcock, along with new drainage lines and a crank-case breather filter. For the electrical, the wiring harness has been redone along with a full-size AGM battery relocated under the tail cowl. Under the seat pan there is a custom component tray for the electrical which has a modern fuse punch block to keep things tidy. Tucked below the seat for ventilation are the new regulator/rectifier and ignition coils. The new coils are matched up with new wires, and new NGK caps & plugs being powered by a new points plate. The headlight has been converted to a replaceable halogen dual-beam within a full chrome headlight bucket with chrome fork-ears and subtle LED signals. The LED tail light and signals are nicely integrated into the tail cowl. All of the wiring in the seat has been built into a custom quick-disconnect allowing for painless removal of the pan - this is often overlooked but really helps with usability. The new hand controls up front have crisp hand-feel with smooth detents. New bulbs have been installed in the gauges to ensure bright indicator lamps. The electrical is finished up with a nice chrome horn under the tank. Yes, of course it has a clear title ready to be transferred. ________________________________________________________________________________ Click for Buyers Guide Disclosure and full Inspection Notes before bidding! _______________________________________________________________________________ Buy-It-Now - at any time the vehicle may be sold to a ready-buyer on an offer basis - don't miss the chance to own a classic - send your offer today!Worldwide Shipping Assistance - Contact with your postal code for a shipping quote today!
