Vehicle Detail
1967 Sears Gilera 106 This is a very rare 1967 Sears Gilera 106 model motorcycle in exceptional original condition. These were bikes that were sold through Sear’s catalogs back in the 1960’s. You can see the Sears badge(s) on the gas tank. They were shipped to the consumer in a crate just as they were packed in Italy, where they were made, and it was up to the customer to assemble it. This bike only has 2247 original miles on it and has brand new (never used) 17 inch Michelin Gazelle M-62 tires on the front and rear. Spring is here and you possibly may have had this same bike as a child growing up or just always wanted one. As stated this bike is completely original and not restored, every single part and hardware including the horn, headlight, grips, cables, foot pegs, even the passenger foot pegs and the rubber on kick starter and gear shift lever. I bought this rare motorcycle seven years ago in Southern California and it’s been inside my house ever since. All I have done to this bike is polish the right hand engine side cover and install the new tires. See picture of tire nubs. It has a brand new CA license plate with FEB 2005 tags – see picture of title, plate and registration card. It is a center stand only bike – no kickstand and it starts and runs great. Gas tank is clean. It even has very cool tool or accessory box placed on the rear fender. Sill has the original Dellorto carburetor and air cleaner. This is a 106cc four stroke engine with a four speed gear sequence. It runs on a magneto – no battery and will do 60 mph. I doubt very much you will not find another one of these Sear Gilera’s in this exceptional unrestored condition. I do not have the fork lock key. Please do not ask me what the reserve price is because I will not tell you and it is not fair to other potential buyers. But I will tell you, that it is very reasonably priced for an all original motorcycle in exceptional condition. Remember bikes are only original once. These rare Gilera’s are hardly ever listed for sale on EBay. The motorcycle will be sold as-is, with no warranties implied and it comes with a valid California title that is not in my name and has been signed and dated March 2005. I never put it in my name because it never left my house. The bike has a frame VIN number of 10618800 and the engine number is 10618770EN and both numbers are noted on the California title also. The Italians identified their bikes a little different back by just choosing the closest engine to the bike instead of matching the frame and engine number as some other manufacturers did – why - I have no idea. Please check my EBay feedback history. I have over 240 positive feedbacks and it is at 100% satisfaction for a reason and ninety five percent of my EBay sales are related to motorcycles, motorcycle parts or mini bikes. I have been riding, racing, restoring and collecting motorcycles for over 45 years. See my EBay profile picture of me on a 1975 Honda 125 Elsinore at a Lake Elsinore Grand Prix race. I also have several transport contacts and can get this Gilera transported almost anywhere in the United States for much less than most motorcycle transporters and USHIP. I also have transported motorcycles to Australia and Europe and I have no issues selling to anyone out of the country. I know of several international transporters and I will charge only $150 to get the bike to the transporter/logistics and fifty cents a mile both ways – you have to pay the transporter to get it over the ocean, but I will assist with the logistics and finding a shipper. I will also deliver this bike for fifty cents a mile, both ways, anywhere within reason in the Southern California area and possibly further. Please check out my other motorcycle listings that I am currently selling on Ebay from my motorcycle collection, a restored 1977 Yamaha YZ250 and other original bikes such as a very rare 1967 Sears Allstate Puch Sabre, a rare 1971 Yamaha GS7 and a 1969 Fuji Go Devil folding mini bike. I also currently have a variety of motorcycle parts priced well below most other similar parts on EBay. If you are new to eBay, then you may not be aware that your bid means you are buying what you are bidding on if you are the highest bidder over the reserve price. If you have less than ten feedbacks you must contact me to let me know that you are serious about completing the sale or I will cancel your bid. Please bid only if you really want this rare motorcycle. Please don’t be a flake. I am not desperate to sell, I am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I am a motorcycle enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! Please ask any questions you may have, because you will be answered quickly and honestly. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. If you would like to see the motorcycle in person before auction close, please just send me a question and I will arrange a date and time. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time in order to sell this bike locally as well or this bike will go to the highest bidder over my reserve price here on Ebay!
