1971 PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER BOUGHT BY ITS CURRENT OWNER A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHO IS MOVING ONTO ANOTHER TOY. WITH COPIES OF THE ORIGINAL TITLE, IT APPEARS THAT THE CAR IS MOST LIKELY A THREE-OWNER CAR.. JUDGING BY ITS LOW DOCUMENTED MILES ( 86,000 MILES ) AND OVERALL CONDITION, I DON'T SEE ANY EVIDENCE THAT WOULD SUGGEST OTHERWISE ? OLDER RE-PAINT MATCHING THE ORIGINAL FENDER TAG OPTION TOR-RED (V2) IS VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY. OUTSIDE OF A COUPLE OF MINOR CHIPS, THE PAINT SHOWS VERY WELL. VERY SOLID FLOORS, TRUNK AND FIREWALL. THERE APPEARS TO HAVE SOME MINOR BUBBLING SHOWING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PASSENGER FENDER BEHIND THE WHEEL WELL. VERY NICE BODY GAPS ALONG WITH NICE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE HOOD, TRUNK AND DOORS ( NO SAGGING ON EITHER DOOR ). GLASS, TRIM AND BRIGHTWORK ALL IN GREAT SHAPE. NICE SET OF RALLYE WHEELS WITH EXCELLENT TREADWEAR ON ALL FOUR TIRES. SUPER CLEAN INTERIOR APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL. DASHPAD DOES SHOW SOME AMATEUR REPAIR DONE TO A COUPLE OF MINOR CRACKS. VERY NICE FRONT AND REAR BENCH SEATS, ALTHOUGH PASSENGER SIDE SHOWS A SMALL TEAR. WORKING GAUGES, SIGNALS AND CLASSIC "BEEB-BEEB" HORN. ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE ARE THE DOOR PANELS AND HEADLINER. *BELIEVED TO BE* ORIGINAL E55 340ci 4BBL 275hp V8. EXTENSIVE ENGINE REBUILD W/ RECEIPTS DONE BACK IN 2008. MILD "COMP CAMS" W/ CAM CARD. ALSO RECEIPTS SHOWING 727 TRANSMISSION REBUILD AS WELL. MOTOR STARTS RIGHT UP AND SETTLES TO SMOOTH, LUMPY IDLE BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILES AND NOT BEING DRIVEN MUCH, I NOTICED THE CAR COULD USE SOME TUNING WITH THE CARB / ALUMINUM HEADS /CAM COMBO. DEPENDING ON HOW IT’S SOLD- ORIGINAL CARB, HEADS, MANIFOLDS CAN COME WITH THE CAR. IT RUNS AND DRIVES AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS, JUST WOULD SUGGEST A LITTLE MORE TUNING TO REALLY BRING OUT THE DRIVABILITY.
