Bad example of a 1981 Rabbit pickup truck LX diesel with 5 speed manual, Looks good from a distance. Starts, runs, drives and stops. I bought this about a year ago and have not used 1 tank of fuel yet, other words I've driven it less than a hundred miles, I do not like driving it. (never had it over 45mph just a in town truck) Horrible restoration job, "lots of rust" and numerous rust repairs around both fender wells, unfinished interior, hit a few times front and rear (tailgate has several dents) odometer dead, few coats of paint, However Fuel tank looks good. What I know from prior owner, engine bored .020 over, recently re-ringed with main bearings and head gasket (have not done the re-torque on head bolts which should be in about 800 miles) new clutch, new alternator, new front shocks, new front wheel bearings, one caliper, both brakes, one half shaft and four new tires. Floor pan dented in a few places but relativity rust free, typical rust rear outside seat rails, looks like lots of rust repair around shock towers on the fender side and coated with tar something. found expand a foam in rear fenders with bondo and various other places. Interior needs to be ripped out and redone, stupid center console looks good but completely useless, it's to low for a arm rest, wedged in-between the seats and the seats are very hard to slide, Factory air conditioner still installed but apparently has not worked in years. Hood jammed shut again so no pictures there, best part a rare GLAS TEK GT Spoiler truck cap for VW. should be towed, I wouldn't drive it cross country, not saying it wouldn't make it but,,,,,, Clean clear Illinois title in my name, delivery available reasonable additional cost (lower 48 only) USA buyers only, no international sale or shipping.
