Vehicle Detail
This is a 1954 Ford Standard Cab F-250 Pickup Truck. This was going to be another project, but I have way to many to add to the list so I'm offering it now in this auction with a LOW RESERVE. This is a RARE TRUCK and needs total restoration to operate safely. This may be a Mercury pickup as it is titled in Oregon as a Merc not a Ford. The Ford / Mercury is rare and unusual in the US due to only being sold in rural farming areas in Canada between 1946 and 1968. When restored these pickups are bringing high dollars and are considered a real good investment. These old classics are easy to work on and you can do it yourself as a hobby even though you may not have done something like this in the past. It would be a lot of fun fixing it up and not have a big investment. There is a back half 1/2 ton Ford pickup bed frame and differential (1953-1955) that is included in the auction. It was made into a trailer and you can see it hooked to the pickup in the pictures. I was going to graft the 1/2 ton bed/frame to eliminate the 3/4 ton rear axle and heavy duty springs. This would make the truck into a 1/2 ton as many of the parts from a 1953 - 1955 Ford pickup are the same as with the Canadian Mercury pickups. There is a lot of parts available for these old Fords around the country on the internet and still in the wrecking yards. Trucks are very popular these days. You will see by the pictures that the bed is very straight as well as the fenders and tailgate. Flat glass needs to be replaced. You will notice that the Grill has the Mercury stainless in the center which looks identical to the Ford stainless the same year in pictures that I have seen on Google Images. The truck rolls freely and steers fine. It should load easily on a trailer and I will assist if needed. Keep the patina as is and just fix the running gear and you will have a fantastic Pickup that is different. That is what I was going to do if I had kept the truck. It would make a perfect rat rod too if that is what you would like to do and it wouldn't cost a lot. I have a complete Ford 351 Cleveland motor with A/C and C-6 Automatic transmission that I was going to put in the truck. Changed my mine not that I'm selling it. The motor is not part of the no auction. I would sell it to the highest bidder, if you are interested, at the close of the auction. See the photo of the clear Oregon title that matches the vin number for the truck. For some reason it is titled as a Mercury truck not a Ford. That will make getting a new title in your name with DMV a lot easier. I will require a $500 non refundable deposit from the highest bidder via Pay Pal at the close of the auction. This will hold the truck until you complete the transaction and pick up the truck. I would like to move the truck out as soon as possible as I need the space and who knows it might start to snow any time now. If you have any questions please ask and I will respond to you as soon as I can.
