Vehicle Detail

Up for grabs is (was) my daily driver 996. It is a wonderful car with normal wear and tear throughout, but overall very nice shape (see photos). Mild intake modifications make for great intake sound on that flat six. Car comes with a fiberglass hard top that goes over the soft top. (Totally transforms the look of the car and makes it a year round car). Top takes two people and 5 minutes to put on and off...it's super easy (only takes one allen head wrench with is included with car). Car HAS had IMS done (I have documentation). Why am I selling my daily driver rocket? A misfire code kept creeping up the last month. The last few days, the exhaust was a little white on hard acceleration. A bit of renlist searching told me that my air oil separator was going bad, an easy fix. As I pulled off the mufflers to put new plugs, coils and and the AOS in, I figured out why my exhaust was white, as coolant was pooling in my exhaust cans. Some web searching hints towards a bad valve, head crack or cylinder crack. I already have a project car (a 1988 Saab 900) and I would LOVE a 964, so my beloved 996 has got to go. So if you're handy with motors or happen to have a spare 996 motor lying around, you can have a winter weekend project and get a car for a fraction of what they usually go for. I'm selling this AS IS, with no WARRANTIES what so ever. Although I drove the car into the current parking space, it now has no mufflers, plugs, coils, etc, and runs poorly. You should bring a trailer. Some of the pictures are just to show that the car has been fully serviced and was usually shipped to and from car shows. You can (sort of) see it in the pictures but the back window is delaminating in the bottom and will leak if left in a downpour. It was not a big enough issue for me to fix; I either parked it inside, or threw on the hard top. Better to ask too many questions than be surprised. I am relisting the car due to the last buyer never showing up..... (herbcars) Questions that were asked over and over the last time: The title is a salvage, I DON'T know what happened with the previous buyer, I'm guessing an accident. I purchased the car from a dealer and the car drove so well, I never cared. I've had the car almost 3 years now. There are NO obvious signs of structural damage to the car that I have noticed and it drives like a dream. The car IS for sale locally, so the auction may end early. If you really want the car, come by, check it out and buy it now. Yes, I drove it to where it is now, but NO, I would NOT recommend you try to drive it home. Bring a dolly. The car is normally aspirated, with mild intake modifications. Yes the top works PERFECTLY (goes up and down with the push of a button), but will leak a little if left for days in a down pour. I don't know EXACTLY what is wrong with the engine, but it had white exhaust and was running poorly. It really is an everyday exotic. You can fit a reverse facing car seat in the back. If you're looking to go to the beach with your three kids between the ages of 3 and 8...THIS CAR WILL DO THAT WITH A SMILE ON YOUR FACE! Oddly, if you have a NICE (little to no rust) 930 or wide body type 964 roller, I might be interested...
