Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Torch Red exterior/Tan leather interior 6 speed manual transmission. Chevy LS1 small block V8, 345 bhp, 350 ft lb of torque. 119715 miles. I am the original owner and driver. Title is clear.4 relatively new Goodyear Eagle non runflats with less than 4000 miles on them.Car had religious oil changes using Mobil 1 Synthetic only. The targa top comes off and can be stowed in the back. Only things I have ever done to the car:Added chrome exhaust tips and a chrome exhaust cover.Added soundproofing throughout the cabin and cargo area.Spark plugs replaced at 70k.Serpentine belt replaced at 80k.The AC compressor was replaced 5 years ago. Blows good cold air now. As I stated, this is a project car. The car runs, the engine is prime which is the main concern but there a few things a savvy mechanic could fix in a weekend. I have priced the car accordingly. Things wrong with the car:1. Passenger headlight won't pop up. This is a common failure with this model as they used plastic gears which eventually break. For $45 you can buy a new plastic gear or even better a brass one and get this going again. You can hear the motor trying.2. ABS/Traction control light it on. I think this is just loose but not sure, it came on when I took the center console out to do the soundproofing.3. I'm pretty sure the starter is going to go soon, the car starts but I think it would be best to swap it out. Either that or it has to do with the anti theft resistor chip in the key. It hasn't had a problem in a month but just wanted to be honest about that.4. The DIC (driver info center) scrolls info sometimes like someone is pressing the button. Contacts need cleaning? There are scratches on the front underside of the car. Hard to avoid because the car is so low. There is a scratch on the back of the car but I bet you can't even see it from the pics. I am selling it because I have the new C7 and I want it to go to someone who will drive it more than me now. You must pick the car up, I want you to come check it out. Cash in hand.
