This is an awesome motorcycle, crotch rocket meets touring bike. This bike handles like a dream. The 2012 BMW R 1200 RT is an awesome machine. It has nice smooth acceleration, holds tight through the twisting corners and flys down the wide open stretches. The 7 gallon gas tank (over 300 miles) gives you plenty of mileage between stops. The adjustable windshield lays over and lets you be more aerodynamic or adjusts up to keep the bugs or rain off of your face shield. This bike has a heated seat and heated grips that are fantastic features when the weather starts cooling off. The saddle bags are TOP loading which is much better than the standard side opening bags and the radio box opens from the top and is empty for more storage area. All of the bags are easy opening even with gloves and are lockable. There are protection bars on both front and back to protect rider and bike from damage in case of tip over. The bike has some minor scrapes and scratches that I tried to highlight in the pictures below but this bike is in great shape and runs fantastic. The tires, brakes, oil and spark plugs were all replaced at 24,891 miles. Current mileage is 26,500.
