Restoration just completed on this 1967 Mustang fastback GTA. This car has gone through a few hands to reach this point of its restoration. This is an original GTA highly optioned car with its original 390 cu in S-code engine! Original highly desired Dark Moss Green Metallic paint. A restoration was started on this car in 2001 and never got back on the road until now. BODY AND PAINTCar was professionally painted this last spring '16. 5 coats base 5 coats clear in its original dark moss green metallic. Shines beautifully. Bottom of doors were repaired. Fenders were replaced with original Ford fenders and aftermarket hood. Drivers front torque box repaired. Quarter panels and floors had been replaced some years earlier. All new exterior chrome placed except drip rails and sections of window trim. All new window gaskets and new windshield. All new door weather stripping, felts, door bumpers, sill plates. New rocker panels, wheel well opening trim, bumpers, back-up lights, grill, outside door handles, mirrors, emblems. ENGINE AND DRIVETRAINAs stated, this is the original 390 cu. in. still in the car. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2007 and IS STILL IN ITS BREAK IN PERIOD! Car currently has Edlebrok intake and 650 Holley carb. A rebuilt C6 was placed in 2007. The 8' inch rear end is fully rebuilt, but, has a spool set up in it. The engine compartment is nicely detailed. New starter, alternator. Looks like original 24" radiator. Belts, hoses etc were replaced in 2007 when motor was done. Car has a Painless Wiring Harness. Engine looks and runs great. Most of these cars were separated from their original engines long ago. INTERIORNew headliner, dash pad, gauge cluster and dash aluminum inserts. New original style deluxe wooden steering wheel. Upper and lower consoles function as they should. New door panels with original stainless inserts (some scratches). New window cranks. Doors were stripped and painted as were the back seat fiberglass panels. New trap door. All deluxe seat pieces present. Passenger seat back has a crack at the bottom but should be easy repair, Deluxe seat belts. No rips in vinyl seats. Fronts were more recently recovered. Back seat not torn but could be recovered. Fold-down works perfectly. Radio does not work but there are brand new original style speakers wired in the doors. All interior lights work. All gauges work. Interior was originally Ivy Gold but previous owner started converting it to black. I liked the black better myself so stuck with it. Tilt works fine but tilt away, which works on a vacuum system, is not hooked up. BRAKES AND WHEELSFront 4 piston original style power disc brakes, rear drum brakes. All in like new condition. All lines and master cylinder are new. Wheels are 15'x8" brand new from CJ Pony who makes the best reproduction rims of this type. 215 70/R 15 Firestones, with good tread, all around. SUSPENSION AND UNDERCARRIAGEOriginal suspension with some parts replaced at some point. Steering box was just rebuilt. Some rattles and squeaks which will have to be tracked down. Frame rails and floors in great shape. some areas where floors were replaced could have cosmetically been done better but still presents well. Was having slight oil drip but the more I drive it, it seems to have stopped. Car was sitting for several years and just needs to be driven. Also new coil and leaf springs were installed back in late 2000's. New gas tank and fuel lines done at that time. Dual exhaust was replaced in '07 and sounds great. I have most or all of the Air Conditioning parts including mounting brackets Under the dash appears complete. Was not installed when I got the car, crank has 3 belt pulley on it.Power steering is acting up and pump will likely need a rebuild. Pump does not leak. Don't want it to be a deal breaker so I can get it done. This car cosmetically is awesome, a real head turner. Mechanically this car is sound but does need a few little things gone through to really dial it in. Motor runs hot (they all did) but has not overheated. This is a rare car, only made 1 year, and will only continue to increase in value. I have only put 100 miles on it and will still need a little time to break in the engine but this motor should go a long, long way, I don't need any help selling.
