Vehicle Detail
* Nice solid, 5-window truck* Body, floorboards, body mounts and chassis in great shape* Not a rust bucket * One previous repaint prior to my purchase* Original factory 6-cylinder, 4 speed, manual transmission with granny gear* Pictures and video tell the story* Bought this truck from an older gentleman who bought it from the area County Highway Department who serviced and maintained it throughout the years. The older gentleman used it as his wood truck on his farm. * Copy this YouTube link to view a video of this solid truck: https://youtu.be/VLojnwX8vNo* Bought to do a V8 conversion, decided it was too original to modify* Any questions, feel welcome to contact the seller* All low-ballers need not bother* Sold as is, where isOn Aug-19-16 at 19:04:20 PDT, seller added the following information: ** CLICK HERE to go directly to video of this truck ** ** ATTENTION ** Because we've had so many questions on this truck, rather than answering each one individually we want to offer this information to all the watchers and bidders on the sidelines. First off, as per the description above, I bought this truck when it was a running, driving vehicle. I removed the front sheetmetal clip to do a Chevy V8 conversion. I removed the front clip in one piece, so it could be reinstalled in the original alignment. Also, removing the front sheetmetal clip gives access to the one and only rust-through spot on the entire truck (my finger is pointing to this one spot in a photo). In the process of the conversion I came across a 1970 Chevy truck. It fit my needs and I purchased it. The radiator on the 1954 is a rebuilt radiator. If you look closely, you can see the yellow paint on the inner fenders which are the remnants from when it was a County Highway Dept. truck. The previous owner rebuilt the hydraulic brakes and brake lines. The emergency brake system is all original with new cable and works perfectly. The gas tank is a new replacement by the previous owner. The truck has had one repaint by the previous owner. While it is not a show truck, it is a very solid truck. The body does have some dings and gangs, but it has no rot and no panel replacement will be required ~ the cab and floorboards are in great shape. Some of the photos include the drain vents at the bottom of the doors and cab corners, showing its originality. Check the YouTube Video of this '54 to see how sweet those doors close. The truck has a 12V conversion from a 6V system and the headlights, taillights, directionals, high/low beam and cab heater all will work once the clip is back on. This truck currently has a realistic reserve and she will sell, so don't miss out on a truck with good bones! On Aug-21-16 at 07:34:53 PDT, seller added the following information: ** SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE ** The current bidding is extremely close to our lowered reserve. We are life-long car people, we lowered our reserve so someone can have some fun with a good truck.
