Vehicle Detail
1968 Oldsmobile 442. This car was pulled out of a warehouse where it sat for many years. The last inspection is 1989. Car DOES run, drive and stop. Engine hits on all 8 cylinders does not smoke and has surprisingly good power. Engine is the correct 400 cid engine as far as I know. I do not know if it is original to the car however. The TH400 trans shifts nice and smooth. The car does have the BPO 12 bolt rear axle, I am not sure of the ratio. We put a new master cylinder and rear brake shoes on the car so it stops. This car is a FULL RESTORATION CANDIDATE. You will need to trailer it home, it is not highway worthy. However, it is a complete and real olds 442 and everything is there. It is going to need body panels and some floor work. The worst part is the trunk and outside dash on lower edge of the windshield, the current windshield is only duct taped in right now (see pictures). However, the car comes with TWO complete inner and outer dash/cowl pieces removed from other cars and the inner trunk lip and taillight housing needed for the trunk lip repair (see pictures). We encourage you to come see and hear the car run at 21 FOSTER AVE in Freeland PA, 18224. It is best that you know exactly what you are getting. I will hold all bidders to the contract they make once they place a bid. Only bid if you are SERIOUS. I will take all actions necessary to recoup my efforts. $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required through PayPal within 24hrs. On Aug-04-16 at 05:03:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I encourage all interested to come look at this car. It is only 10 minutes off of I80 0r I81. You can hear it run and I can even take you down the road a bit so you can hear it shift. I will also put it up on the lift for you so you can do a thorough inspection. It would be impossible for me to take a picture of everything on the car, I did the best I could to show the overall condition of the vehicle. Just to reiterate, this car is a restoration project car. It is not something you can drive home or can spend a night on and put it on the road the next day. It does run, drive, shift and stop, however, it is going to need trunk floors, there are spots in the interior floors that will need work, and many areas on the body that need work. It is a great start for a project, but that is what it is, a project.
