This listing is for an original 1998 Ford Ranger EV - Electric Vehicle- original Ford manufacture in Edison, NJ. The ECU of the Battery Control Module has failed (error code B1342) and would require the purchaser to find and install a replacement before it is functional and recharge the batteries. The battery pack has been converted to 26 lead acid batteries (12V) from the original 39 eight volt lead acid batteries and works fine when charged. (the batteries are presently low as the ECU has failed) The rear tires are in new condition and everything, including the air conditioning, worked fine until the ECU failed. Included in the sale is two Avcon chargers which work, an NGS tester with 1998 Ranger EV diagnostic card and software update card, an updated stereo with CD and weather radio (installed), the original factory AM/FM stereo, and workshop and electrical shop manuals in .pdf format. Also, schematics of the 12 volt (26 cells) conversion is included. Of Note: this vehicle is enjoyable to drive, silent, and will do highway speeds up to 75mph, but should only be purchased by an electrically technical person who has access to a vehicle lift as the battery pack requires a lift to remove. For someone with the technical skills, this is nice electric vehicle.
