1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas with about 70K miles. 4.0 Liter V8. The transmission just went out on it, so it cannot be driven. I was slowly working on this car before the transmission went out on it.. The timing chain and guides have been changed, which is a weak point on these vehicles.New tires, new front shocks, new lower ball joint and wheel bearing (driver's front). New spark plugs and air filter. New oil and filter. New radiator hoses and replaced antifreeze. Replaced front sway bar bushings. Spent $400 on an alignment and the transmission went out on the way home from the shop. The car does appear to have been repainted, at least partially, at some point during its life. Things I know it needs beyond the transmission:- Clearcoat is peeling on top of front fenders and doors- Headliner sags- Drivers seat is torn- Antenna doesn't work- Center console lid is broke (although I just finished putting a new cover on it (not perfect, but not bad either for a first time job) - hinge broke for cup holder) PA inspected until May 2017. Must be towed. Sold as is.
