Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction 1958 Chevrolet ”Chevy” Bel Air Sport Sedan, All Original. One family owned his Bel Air, Uncle passed away, His nephew collected the car at his aunt's garage, he cleaned it up, changed all the fluids and made it road worthy. His Uncle drove this to many cars shows and gathering in the Nor Cal area, with a few in Nevada too, in his day, well up till he was no longer allowed to drive , which did not stop him and a friend from heading out to shows and weekend coffee gatherings. So the family had to put the cars on blocks and took the tires and rims. Being a car lover, this was a simple fix of having one of his friends bring by a set of rims and tires and off they went to a show, hence the studs for the lugs were then removed from the drums and this Bel Air was just a piece of art in the garage for him now, So the Uncle would still go out and remove the custom fit cover ( Included) and start, polish and sit in her..It's in the blood, it can not be explained. As stated a year or so, after his Uncle passed , his aunt called him about getting it going to sell , the nephew being a car guy also agreed an really didn't have much to do, but charge the battery, changed the fluids put on a set of new tires and cleaned and resealed / splatter coated the trunk (The Uncle left a sack of banana's in there) The paint from what can be seen looks all orig, but may not be, the interior is perfect seats, floors etc (no rust floors) , except for the headliner which it's center seams have come undone (after 58 years) but as told by an interior guy, its not a hard or expensive fix and its keeps it original..Floors, trunk SOLID really not even a touch of surface rust. This 58 Doesn't leak anything and all hosed Top/Bottom & Heater hoses all replace along with the water pump when I did that and pan seal. New brakes Drums, Cyls and Pads on all 4 corners, New shocks, with Proper length Air type on the rear, new muffler (little more tone to enjoy it's growl, but not enough to piss off the folks next door) which cause a bumpy rattle I have not been able to return to my guy and have corrected ( I'm a truck driver , 5 days gone 2,100 a week) which I've been too beat to have done and one of the reason I am saying good bye to my Bel Air AND my 49 Willy's I no longer have time to enjoy..It's not the money, Old classic cars need to be used / driven or they start to go sour. Needs nothing, would drive cross country if I was back in my youth. Has on a set of 2 years BFG's on her with orig 60's Fenton mags ( like crager's , but rarer / stronger) which I switch to, cause its more aggressive looking, but don't cruz smooth like the stockers do. If the reserve is met, You will also get her original rims with a brand new set (bought for a photo shoot) Uniroyal white wall "Tiger Paws" with less then 20 miles and her orig 58 hubcaps with NEW correct spinners and black color inserts. Everything works on the 58 except the clock (nuff said) Everything, interior, exterior light, gauges, and orig AM RADIO after she warms up (tubes). Body, doors, trunk, hood open and shut as they should as she's never been hit or in a accident as best a can be seen and checked for. All orig Factory trim is intact, nice and on the car..all of it. Glass is all orig, with a small 1 inch crack on the far left front windshield near the pillar and heard to see behind a international custom car assoc decal, windows go up and down as the should also. This a ONE years only model car. She in Aegean turquoise and white , she's sweet and cheap at the low reserve..really look around. VIN # starts with F58J F= Bel Air V8 58= 1958 J=Janesville, WI Engine # F1014EB 283 / w Super Turbo Fire 230 HP EB= TurboGlide 4BC (4 barrow carb) 4 Door H/T Sport Sedan, No post, X frame (same as Convertible) The Bel Air speaks for itself, no camera tricks, just my cellphone. Set of orig rims and new tires and hubcaps included if RESERVE is met (Have sold pending for 1000.00, if they do not go with auction) and are NOT included if Reserve not met. I reserve the right to end auction at anytime as, my 58 is on a couple of other venues, and word of mouth is not out that I'm selling as yet. Bank Cashiers checks and ONLY Bank Cashiers check will be accepted ( 2) and after clear funds received., will this 58 leave my locked garage and property. Car located in Roseville, Ca (20 miles north east on the 80 from Sacramento, Ca 95677) I will have 58 ready to load and available for your transport company if your have her shipped and assist in anyway, This is a driver, It's California titled and Registered, insured via Haggerty @15,000 agreed value AND has it's original black with yellow number plate , that California DMV gave her, when her orig 58 yellow with black number plate were required to be returned to DMV for exchange in 1963.
