Vehicle Detail
This is a very straight old 1952 Dodge Pilot House Dodge 1/2 ton Dodge pickup with 4 speed transmission and fluid drive clutch. It sports the seven window " Pilot house cab. It brakes, steers, shifts and clutches nicely, especially for a truck of this vintage. You can shift it easily with out grinding gears and the clutch is super smooth yet positive. The four speed tranny has the granny gear for moving a heavy load at slow speeds on rough ground in case a person wants to hook up to a vintage camp trailer or something. All the gauges work including the gas gauge which has a new sending unit. At one point when doing the virtual drive for YouTube the gas gauge didn't move but then I thumped the dash below the gauge and it has worked ever since. It holds good oil pressure at hot idle and about 65 lbs at 50 Mph. I The amp gauge stays in the positive and the temp gauge holds about in the middle. The owner told me he rebuilt the engine a few years ago but I don't have any receipts. If we can find any receipts I will update the posting. The wipers work very well, it has hi and low beams, horn works, heater fan works and the heater is plumbed in and working. It does not have signals and never did. I think all the paint is original and the sheet metal is quite straight with almost O rust. There are two little spots of rust ( see pictures), on the front fenders in that typical spot where the fender brace, inside the front fender, traps mud. The floors and cab corners are solid and have never been patched. The side walls, tailgate and front of the bed are not battered . The stake pockets are straight and rust free. When I say rust free I don't mean there is no surface rust anywhere but that there is no deep cancer rust. The back of the cab is not dented or caved in and I see no evidence of any old body work. As I said I believe all that is showing is original paint. It has a newer rubber floor mat, pedal pads, tail gate chains with rubber covers and the seat has been recovered with an era looking brown vinyl material . This truck is fun to drive just like it is could be restored to original without great difficulty given the very straight sheet metal. The truck was red with the black bed as it came from the factory with remnant of " NEW--- FLUID DRIVE CLUTCH" written on the tailgate. It also has " UNDER 5000" ( GVW) on the cab corners. The patina on this truck is really cool. People are spending thousands of dollars with new paint trying to duplicate the patina like this. This one is REAL !! PLEASE CALL " two o eight- 934-6001" with any questions or if you want more pictures. I will add a link to view a "VIRTUAL DRIVE" of this truck on YouTube later tonight. Thanks for viewing this add... Thanks Harvey A little about myself: My name is Harvey. I am the owner of Time Machines Collectable Autos in Twin Falls, Idaho established in 1987. I am now semi retiring and have moved our business to the small town of Eden 17 miles NE of Twin Falls. My shop is in the old Eden High School built in 1921 which also doubles as our home. Now that I am working at home I keep a smaller stock of hand picked vehicles including collectable cars and trucks, some late model vehicles, vintage and late model camp trailers, vintage motor bikes, motorcycles and some times ultra light and light sport experimental aircraft. I will also go to the auctions and find specific vehicles for people on special order for a very reasonable mark up. I have always strived to put my customers first and be upfront and honest in my dealings. I would like to thank all my customers that have helped support Time Machines the last twenty eight years. I am proud to call many of them friends. Thanks again, Harvey
