Vehicle Detail
This is one of the early 1986 928s (1/1000 - number 295). The good: It has been upgraded to 928 S4 brakes, coilovers, 17" turbo twist wheels, 928s R US oil pan gasket and bolt kit, new hvac blower, new hood release lock and cable. It has a rare limited slip rear end and upgraded 24# fuel injectors and hot weather cooling system (still have the original window sticker - leather, heated seats, limited slip differential, side moldings, increased a/c output, engine cooling for hot weather - listed for $52,753). Mechanically, the car is very stout. Runs great and pulls hard. The body is straight. Cosmetically, it needs some tlc. It was a California car and had faded paint. It had a partial, not so great quality respray on the top panels. There is a half-dollar sized spot on the hood with peeling paintwork - would be a great candidate for a vinyl wrap. The odometer/trip gear broke the day I bought it - actual mileage is about 3,000 greater than listed. I have the replacement gear, but haven't torn the dash apart to repair. The dash is cracked and the seats need to be recovered. Some rubber trim is dried out and needs replacement. Cruise in inoperable. A/C needs a recharge and a couple of switches need some tlc or replacement. Due for a timing belt replacement by age - not mileage). All the needed repairs are fairly straightforward for a diy'er. I have a few replacement interior panels (door inserts and a new headliner). It was my wife's fun car until she needed a knee replacement. It's only been driven around 100 miles in the last two years. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to give it the attention it deserves. This is a no-reserve auction. A $500 deposit is due within two business days of the auction close. Cash due within 7 days of the auction close. The car is listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.
