In 1975, reigning 125 National Champion Marty Smith won the last six motos of the Outdoor National series and clinched his second consecutive 125 championship. Marty also won the USGP 125cc class twice in a row and beat the top European riders that were considered to be superior at the time. The racing success of Marty Smith allowed Honda to sell every CR125 production machine they could manufacture. In 1976 Honda unveiled their all new Tahitian Red CR125 that would have more power and better suspension than ever before. Now, every young rider could feel like Marty Smith when he swung his leg over the awesome '76 Red Racer from Honda. The Honda CR125 that is for sale here is an excellent example of a showroom stock bike you could purchase in 1976. Every part on the bike has been painted, polished, plated, or replaced with NOS items to bring the motorcycle back to its current condition. The engine is new top to bottom and all the cables and rubber items have been replaced with new parts. The wheels have rare NOS Honda DID rims and new spokes and tires. Underneath the bodywork the bike is clean as a whistle and has all the correct wiring and Honda aluminum ties. The rust-prone stock steel tank has been sealed with Red Kote fuel tank liner to protect it from rusting in the future. If you are a fan of vintage motocross and Honda Elsinores, this bike would be an excellent addition to any collection, it's a real beauty. The bike comes with a Bill of Sale only, like most off-road only vehicles it did not have a title.
