Vehicle Detail

Here is a lovely 1978 Honda CB 750 (K) that has started its transformation into a cafe racer project. The bike was bought from a North Dakota farmer who was the original owner, and I have had it for almost two years. I began chopping the bike from a K model into what you see in the pictures here. I am no mechanic, and I had a daughter 9 months ago, and have realized that I don't- nor will I- have time to finish the project. Please take it over! This is a great starting point! What I've done: -- New Battery, which is now dead due to a crappy battery tender! -- New oil filter, oil and oil housing case, as the old one was frozen. -- New K / N airpods, balanced as well as my local shop could w/o a dyno -- New headlight bulb, with reconditioned headlight cowl and fairing -- Love, sweat and some tears trying to get all the mud off the chrome -- New clutch cable -- New (slightly) straight bars and grips, including throttle body. The bike is currently held in my woodshop which is kept around 50 degrees. Unfortunately it's not running currently without the battery, and I'm in no place to replace it with everything I've got going on. But trust me, some fresh gas and new battery, and it kicks over beautifully with the electric start or the kick. Great compression! The leather is great shape on the seat, and the paint is pretty good, but come on- let's get real- you're going to paint it anyway, right? The tires are in damn good shape, with minimal dry cracks, and no rot. The chrome is sweet, and buffs beautifully. The bike is NOT street legal at the moment. It needs its blinkers installed, and the front brake needs a good bleeding. It stops well, though, but I wouldn't take it on the freeway until that's done. And the headlight went out on me in late Fall, and I haven't been able to open up the housing to sort it out. I have a good amount of the original gear that was on it, with the exception of the Windjammer. That went to great Windjammer party in the sky... I'm out of Milwaukee, and will happily deliver up to 50 miles or so for a fee. I have ramps and a pickup. Would need help unloading.Or, I can help in shipping if you take care of the carrier and cost.
