For Sales at no reserve we have a 1953 Chevy 3600 3/4 ton pickup - winch truck. I will try to give a good description, but the pictures show how unique this little pickup really is. This truck has spent most of its life on a farm in central Kansas, where it was still in use until very recently, when I picked it up. The truck is in overall very good condition for its age. This truck does have a little rust on the cab corners (in pictures). It also has a spot on each side of the floorboard (also in pictures). The previous owner did a nice job of putting some metal over those, and you don't know they are there with the floor mat over them. Both of these would be easy fixes, the rest of the truck is rust free. Now to the really cool parts of the truck. The previous owners at some point, pulled the original engine, and installed a 261 Chevy. This engine is close to the same vintage, so it looks right, but has more power, a full pressure oil system and they converted it to 12 volt. These things make this truck very drivable. It starts easy and runs great. The other thing that makes this pickup different than everyone else's, is the winch. This has a PTO driven Braden winch that works great. Forward and reverse PTO operated by the lever in the cab runs the winch up & down. You can take this on cruise night, and then drag your buddy's ford home when it breaks down! Mechanically this truck is very sound, runs well, shifts through all gears, brakes work very well, about half the lights work (including dash lights) and all the gauges work except the gas gauge - which stays on full all the time. The interior is in very nice shape. I will let the pictures do the talking on that. The rest of the truck is simply very original. It is very straight for being 60+ years old, but obviously has dings here and there. The doors shut well, as does the hood. The windows roll up and down. The tires hold air fine, I have never even aired them up, but they are very weather checked. They are 700x15, so they should be pretty easy to get. The wheel base on this is approx.. 125" and from the back of the cab to the center of rear axle is approx. 48", so this is a pretty short truck, and the poles lay down on the headache rack or easily come off for transport or to get in a garage.
