Vehicle Detail

1965 Cadillac DeVille convertible What a great classic Cadillac. She runs and drives beautifully and just glides along, yet has effortless smooth power when you need it. This car is a real joy to drive and commands lots of attention and complements wherever I go. Please notes the white stuff on the edges of hood, door sides etc is dust from polish - NOT paint chips or defects. I have owned many classic 1940's, 50's and 70's Cadillac's in the past. but this '65 drives the best. The 1965 and '66 Cadillac's it is said are the ones to own, having the great build quality of earlier cars combined with the modernity of later cars. The Vogue tires really help the ride, the steering is precise and the car feels very lithe despite it's size. The only reason I am selling her, is because I have bought my dream car, a 1941 Buick convertible that needs a full restoration. The car really is in great condition; starts first time every time, is completely rock solid underneath and in the trunk (as you would expect from a western car), and has no dents or bangs. The odometer reads a little over 69,000 miles. I have a couple of video clips on youtube of the car: youtube script ending in v=sJPh6UML9 and v=sQcNuSyXz10 Body As mentioned above the body is in great condition with no sign of rust and no dents. The paint, in original color Matador Red is bright and shinny and looks so good contrasting with the white top. There are a few imperfections, which I have tried to show in the photos. These are: a scratch repair down low behind the drivers door. This is not really noticeable unless under close inspection. On the passenger side front hood corner and adjoining fender, there are a few burn marks where battery acid splashed onto the paint. The hood V has two mounting holes that are partially visible if looked at from low down. The chrome and stainless is all complete and looks great and is very presentable but not concourse. The reason being the rear bumper, having deep scratches and in the middle section and on the outside of the right tail light housing. Interior The interior is fantastic and in as new condition. The seats are finished in soft white leather contrasting with perfect burgundy carpet. The door panels are all nice as is the dash. The steering has some cracks though - the Las Vegas heat is savage on certain kinds of 50 year old plastic. The car features a tilt and telescopic steering column. All windows operate smoothly, including the vent windows and the power seat operates perfectly. The only problem we have is you can only operate the windows from the drives side switch. I have found a socket that powers the passenger switches, but I can't see where it plugs into? I have searched high and low. This also affects the courtesy lights. Mechanical The car drives great and always starts first time. No smoke out of the exhaust and no clangs and bangs from the engine, transmission or suspension. The car has new Vogue tires and a new complete twin exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. There are new belts and hoses, new filters, new water pump, new alternator and new front brakes. The white power top is brand new and features a glass back window as original. The power top pump is also brand new. Nearly forgot; I found some water leakage on the garage floor today - this is from the heater matrix. Something I wouldn't need to bother with here in Las Vegas, but if you are back east you may want some heating. Summary This is a great classic Cadillac, which is ready to roll and enjoy for the summer. The mechanics are good, the interior lovely, the top new and the body very nice indeed. There are few little jobs you might like to do, as you would expect from any 50 year old car - this is reflected in the sale price. The car has a clear Nevada title and registration in my name. It is taxed and insured and is used regularly. I have tried to describe the car as carefully as possible. If you have any questions or need more pictures please ask. I have sold many high end cars on here on ebay and have always received positive feedback. I want you to be happy with your purchase and will help you in any way I can. I am happy to help ship overseas (lately my 1969 Jaguar XKE was shipped to Slovakia), or work with your domestic shipper. Thank you for looking and happy bidding. On Apr-17-16 at 20:34:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Many people have asked for pictures of the undercarriage and frame. I have added pictures and given the underside a thorough examination. I have found a one small area under the driver seat where some rust has started to show - this is pictured. The rest of the floor pan, including the trunk floor, the chassis and door bottoms are completely dry, solid and original with no repairs and have no rust.
