Vehicle Detail
Yes...it's back! I don't know whether the last auction winner is dead or what. All I know is they never paid for the car nor returned any correspondence. So,for those of you looking for an authentic K.I.T.T. replica that won't break the bank, you YOU HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE at my friend's 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am K.I.T.T. replica.DON'T WASTE IT! Also, please don't waste your time or ours.If you don't have money,do not already have the money in hand from a lending institution so you can pay cash or cashier's check to cover the cost of the car,or don't intend to pay for it,DON'T BID! Failure to do so will result in VERY negative feedback and someone else buying the car. My friend is a HUGE T.V./movie car buff so this car has it all. It's a correct year car,it has the front red scanner light(yes it works),the CORRECT fitted fiberglass front nose cone, the molded dash(still needs to be installed),the special aircraft yoke style steering wheel, the "K.I.T.T." skit talking CD(you ask the car questions...the cd has pre-recorded answers),the rear tail lamp "blackout" panel, correct black bowling ball style hubcaps with NEW tires,T-Top roof, and correct for a K.I.T.T. replica, tan interior. The car was painted black about 5 years ago and it is still nice and slick(look at the reflections in the paint).By the way,due to the pollen in the air,the picture showing the camera's reflection was the cleanest I could get.The doors, hood, and rear hatch were taken off so as to do a nice job of painting the jams black.Even the windshield was taken out and replaced at that time to ensure the color change was as complete as possible.Special attention was also taken at that time to make the gaps and fit and finish of the doors, fenders, hood, and hatch as nice as you'll see on an 80's car like this (better than factory).New weatherstrip for the doors and for the T-tops have been installed. The car has a 5.0 liter "Crossfire" motor and an automatic transmission(again, correct for a replica). The car runs good and has a new fuel pump.Title is clean. The vehicle is currently on a "non op" with the DMV here in California because he has several cars and wasn't driving it.There are no "back" fees or penalties due. This car also comes with a LOAD of spare parts. The pictures only show some of the parts included in the sale of the car...There are two full SETS of T-Tops,the one on the car plus one other set,two EXTRA covers for the T-tops,an extra glass/hatch,two PAIRS of EXTRA tail lights, two SPARE hoods,an extra passenger door and an extra drivers side door,An EXTRA PAIR of fenders, spare interior panels, two full SETS of seats(front and rear),SPARE rear spoiler, spare speakers,an extra set of tires and wheels, three EXTRA non painted hubcaps two repair manuals, and MUCH MORE! With all the work that has already been done and all that it comes with, someone is going to get a GREAT DEAL! Companies are making and selling these replicas for $25,000-$50,000.But you can have a nice driver version of this car which is SO close to being a K.I.T.T. car it's not funny for NOT EVEN A FRACTION OF THAT COST.Heck, we've all seen cars on here that are similar, but they're still asking for almost DOUBLE what the reserve is on this car! Some want close to or more than the reserve for a beat up stock Trans AM.You can't buy a car this nice, let alone convert it, for the reserve that is on this car.Plus, keep in mind,if a person had to go out and buy all the spare parts that are included with this car they would spend close to $2,000.00 and that's not even counting the K.I.T.T. fiberglass replacement dash and overhead console which alone cost over $600.00 new! Item is being sold AS IS. No warranty expressed or implied.Keep in mind the car is 33 years old.It is not perfect, but it is a very nice driver that someone should not be ashamed to take to an average local level car show. The owner wants to be as honest about the car as possible to avoid issues. So,Known issues ;The rear defroster does not work. The door glass and glass for the rear hatch have some minor scratches in them. The gas charged prop rods for the rear hatch are tired. The intermittent portion of the wipers does not work. The drivers side fender has what appears to be two small bubbles in the paint that stick out roughly 1 millimeter. One is the diameter of a dime, the other a quarter, and unless someone points them out, they are not readily noticeable nor do they photograph well.NO it is NOT rust! Because the tail light "blackout" panel covers the key hole for the rear hatch,at present you cannot open it without taking the tail light "blackout"panel off.The dash pad has a few cracks in it,but is covered by a dash cover and if planning to install the K.I.T.T. unit is irrelevant. The top portion of the rear seat has a seat cover over it that matches the interior of the car,the driver's seat has some minor tears, and the front passenger seat some light checking.However...they're nice enough to use,and if they bother you, take a pair of the other spare seats, get them upholstered, and then you can switch them out with roughly an hours worth of down time. While you're waiting you can be driving and enjoying the car! Also the lock mechanism for the hatch that covers the rear T-top storage swell is missing.Other than that,as near as we can tell, the car is complete and everything is in working order. Please keep in mind condition is subject to opinion. If you do not trust my description,or have any concerns about the vehicle,I recommend you have someone come and inspect the car in person.Sale of the vehicle will be final. There will be no refunds nor any reimbursement like it of any kind.Upon the end of the auction,a deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hrs and the remainder due within 3 days of the end of the auction. If you choose the "Buy It Now"option,$500.00 is due within 24 hrs and the remainder is due within 3 days of clicking the " Buy It Now" button. The purchaser of the vehicle is responsible for all arrangements as well as any and all cost of shipping/transporting the vehicle and parts to the winning bidder/buyers desired location.Owner reserves the right to end the Auction early if his "Buy It Now" price is met,or someone local purchases the vehicle as the car is also listed for sale locally. If you have any questions, you can either contact me (Teno) through eBay email relay,or you can contact the owner of the vehicle(Steve) direct at (530)941-1771.Again, YOU WILL NOT FIND a car THIS NICE that is basically DONE for CHEAPER. Even selling the car at the reserve price the owner will be losing AT LEAST HALF of what he has invested.Further pictures are available upon request as the ones above are the maximum eBay would allow to be added to the listing.
