Vehicle Detail

1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500 45,200 Original Documented Miles Ruby Pearl Metallic Exterior (paint code 572) Mushroom Leather Interior (code 235A) Burl Walnut Root Wood Trim (code 731) Electric Rear Window Blind (code 540) Bose AM/FM Cassette Stereo w/ 6 Disc CD Changer (Codes 251 / 810) Cellular Phone (Factory installed option) Navigation (Mercedes-Benz Dealer installed - rare) This vehicle is RARE for several reasons: Last year of the W140 ChassisLess than 200 were imported for the 1999 Model YearThe dealer installed Mercedes-Benz Navigation System (current disc is for California and Nevada). After the enormous success of the Mercedes-Benz W126 S-Class, the company had a big task on their hands of building a car that was even better than the old. The W140 chassis S-Class was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1991 and production starting in May of 1991. The new 5.0 liter DOHC V8 engine produced 315 hp and was given the title as, one of the greatest engines ever made. The legendary “Pillarless Coupe” design continued into the new C140 Coupe. The elegant new Coupe’ was introduced in October of 1992 and quickly became one the motoring world’s most elegant and desirable GT cars. The W140 S-Class cars are known as the last “over engineered” Mercedes-Benz to come from Mercedes-Benz. Features such as double-pane window glazing, pneumatic doors and trunk, power windows that recognize objects in the way, parking assist and many other features no other vehicle offered at the time. The 140 S-Class continued through model year 1999 and was then replaced by the new W220. This CL500 Coupe’ left the Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart production line November 5, 1998 (according to VIN report from M-B history) and invoiced to Mercedes-Benz North America. The vehicle sold new to its first owner on December 18, 1998 by Mercedes-Benz of Encino, California. The vehicle lived in California and was regularly serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Encino (27 records) until April 2014 when it was sold to the second owner with 35,000 documented miles. The Ruby Pearl Metallic paint is all completely original and in exceptional condition. There are no dents, dings, scratches (few that exist were professionally addressed using M-B touch-up paint), damage or rust anywhere on the body of the vehicle. The original Mercedes-Benz wheels are in excellent condition (1 has minor lip blemish) and still have a beautiful factory shine to them. The vehicle has never been involved in any kind of accident and comes with clean and clear Carfax and AutoCheck reports. The interior of this CL500 is gorgeous. It shows almost no signs of wear anywhere on the seats, carpet, wood or dash. All of the electronics work on this vehicle. All of the interior, exterior and dash lights are working as designed, the self-leveling HID headlights are operating as designed, the seat belt arms extend and close as they should, all the windows, mirrors, seats, steering wheel, locks, pneumatic doors, truck, power antenna and power sunroof are all operating. The remote key-less entry system is functioning as designed and the heated seats are warming as they should. The park assist both front and rear is also in working order. The AC blows cold on all of the fan speeds and the heater is blowing hot. The original Mercedes-Benz Bose Stereo is operating as it should including the CD changer. The engine starts right up and idles superbly. It does not smoke and there are no leaks of any kind. The vehicle has just received servicing as detailed below. The vehicle runs and drives exceptionally well and shifts smoothly through all of the gears. The steering and suspension are nice, tight and precise and free from any issues. The brakes feel excellent and do not give any fade or squeaking. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very rare and exceptional Mercedes 140 Coupe’. The vehicle is fully documented from brand new and has only been in the care of two owners since new covering only 45,200 miles. These are becoming harder and harder to find in this type of condition. Complete and Verifiable Service History - Vehicle originally purchased new in Orange County, California where it was serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Encino regularly (27 service records on CarFax and verified with Mercedes-Benz of Encino). In 2014 the vehicle was sold to a new owner in Mesa, Arizona where it was serviced twice (2 service records on CarFax). I recently purchased the vehicle and had it serviced by a Certified Mercedes-Benz Mechanic. I instructed the mechanic to inspect the vehicle from top to bottom, front to back and perform all necessary services and/or repairs. The service's performed: Oil (Mobile 1) and Filter ChangeAll Fluids checked and condition confirmedAll Filters Checked and condition confirmedNew Lower Control Arms with New Bushings and Ball JointsNew Steering ShockNew Transmission Linkage BushingNew Dash Lights (1 was burned out so all the lights were changed)New Serpentine BeltBrakes Checked and Condition Confirmed (60% remaining on Front and 80% remaining on Rear)AlignmentTires Rotated and Balanced - Tires - 3 are 80% (8/32nds) and 1 is New (changed because of sidewall puncture) I have Receipts for all the recent servicing. I shopped for a vehicle like this with low miles, 1 or 2 owners and complete service history for many months (hard to find). I have a reputation for being very particular about my vehicles, my Mechanic had stated more than once that I am one of the fussiest Mercedes owners he knows, almost to a fault. I like my vehicle's to be in A-1, Like-New condition and for everything to function properly. That is why I go to the expense of servicing the vehicles as I do. I purchased and serviced this vehicle with the intent of keeping it for years. But, due to unexpected medical expenses, I am now forced to sell the vehicle to pay for these unexpected medical bills. I hate to sell it now, but the medical bills won't wait for payment. Vehicle is in "Like New" Condition and ready to drive anywhere. No Accidents, Non Smoking, No Leaks, No Squeaks, No Rust, No Issues. Clean CarFax and AutoCheck reports available upon request. Clean and Clear Title in hand. There is no warranty implied or otherwise. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is advertised locally. I prefer a cash transaction. If paying by cashiers check, I will hold the vehicle title until the check clears.
