Vehicle Detail

This is my 1947 Dodge pickup, original Flathead 6 cylinder, 3 speed. Here is a video of full walk around and cold start. go to youtube and search "1947 dodge WD-15 pickup" I have owned it for about a year now. When I got it, it was being used as a lawn decoration out front of car lot for about 15 years. I pulled it out of the weeds, got it running, driving and stopping and have been using it ever since. I use it as a truck for my projects, like picking up cabinets at home depo, getting brick pavers for a back patio, going to and from the storage unit for holiday decorations. It has been part of a bunch of photo shoots and promotional stuff around town and everyone loves to check it out when I park it somewhere. It runs great and has never left me on the side of the road. Always starts and when I am at a car show and start it up on low idle people are always amazed at how quite it is. The vacuum holds steady at 19-20 bars. I adjusted the valves about 3 months ago and it made a world of difference. This is a truck for someone who is mechanical and or willing to learn how to work on an old flathead 6. It is a good survivor truck, with one paint job about 30 years ago. Only one major rust spot to speak of, under the bed on one cross member. They sell that cross member for $275 if you want to replace it, or you can patch the other side since I already did one half. The rest of the truck is in remarkable shape for being 70 years old. It stops terrible, you really need to pay attention and engine brake as much as possible. I put in all new cylinders and flushed the system, but I suspect the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt (I have the kit, just have not done it yet). The steering is not great either, but I have the kit to rebuild the drag link and that plus a worm screw adjustment should clean it up. The speedo needs to be pulled out and the center needle reattached to the gear and then that will work as well. If you like tinkering this is a great truck, there are no major to fixes needed, it can be driven just as it is or someone can love on it a little and fix the little stuff. New gas tank and sending unit New interior Full Dynamat in the cab New brake calendars New u-joints New ignition parts; coil, distributor cap, wires, points, plugs, vacuum advance New alternator, converted to 12 volts New battery Rebuilt Carb, starter Please don't insult me with low ball offers, would consider trades for old motorcycles, old Harley, old cars, old guns etc... I do not need help selling the truck please no solicitations.
