Vehicle Detail
The Bad: The bike was in a low speed (20 mph) accident and fell over. The damage was a bent front brake disc, bent front brake lever, broken rear brake pedal, a cracked windscreen, and various scratches, all very minor. When the bike was transported to the dealer the handlebars came loose and put two large scratches in the gas tank. The dealer said they had so many customer complaints about repainting tanks that they now ordered new tanks directly from Honda. A new VTX tank was $1800, thus the insurance company totaled it. I bought it back from the insurance company and then bought a new front brake disc, new front brake lever, and new rear brake pedal and the total cost was about $200. I then bought a new Batwing windscreen and installed it. The gas tank was repaired and painted by a friend. The color is not exact but very close, see photos. Frame, forks, and tracking are true, nothing bent or out of alignment. The Good: This is a 2003 Honda VTX 1800C, with 24,970 miles. I am the third owner. It has Vance and Hines exhaust, Power Commander fuel module, hard saddle bags, Batwing windscreen, Baron tachometer, K&N air filter, floorboards (have old footpegs), new Avon front tire, new Shinko rear tire (Avon rear had a puncture with less than 1000 miles on it, still have it, never fixed), tires have less than 2000 miles on them, and various chrome trim pieces. Hard plastic saddle bags from Xtreme Revolution. It has a VTX 1300 rear drive which allows the engine to cruise at 75 mph at 2900 rpm, rather than 3500 rpm with the stock rear drive. I have the stock rear end if you want quicker acceleration, easy bolt in replacement. I also have the rear seat, sissybar/backrest, original side covers, and two carry bags. Bike is in very good condition, always garaged, battery kept on battery tender. Oil always changed with Amsoil synthetic oil. Best mileage was 42 mpg on freeway, averages around 30 mpg on streets. Not super fast but with 104 horsepower it pulls like a tractor. Weight is over 800 lbs. but rides extremely smooth. Low seat allows me, at 5'9", to put both feet down flat at a stop. Hate to get rid of bike but I have too many in my garage. Please email with any questions. Listed locally, reserve right to end auction at any time. Will cooperate with shipping.
